You don’t need merit to learn about cryptocurrency on this forum. You don’t need merit to do anything of value on this forum. You need merit to destroy this forum, and Facebook, and Twitter and anywhere else you can bomb advertise ICO’s and shitcoins.

While I do agree with the first sentence of that statement, it seems to me the second is a bit extreme. I mean, if merit is needed to destroy the forum, why do we even give it to people and help them destroy the forum? This seems to go against the very purpose of your thread, doesn't it? I'm a bit puzzled so I'm genuinely asking.

You don’t need merit to do anything here except make money. Hell, there was no merit a year ago and people were using the forum just fine without it. If you read through the OP would have seen that I felt sorry for the genuinely decent posters that were already a higher rank and were screwed over by the merit system. I’m only helping them. I don’t even respond to anyone below Full Member anymore. 99% of the new members are only here to spam one liners for cash. I don’t help them at all.

I agree on that. (And this can be extended to the Rank.)

I actually did Smiley and noted that part where you expressed you wanted to help decent posters rank up, it just seems contradictory to me with the fact that you said "You need merit to destroy this forum". It almost sounds like "I want to help users rank up so that they can destroy the forum" Cheesy. I know it's not the case of course, hence my comment on the destroy part being a bit extreme Wink. I do think your thread is a good initiative since it gives users whose Merit-worthy posts (according to them) don't have much visibility the chance to have them examined by you (and/or others) and to potentially get Merit for them.

Cobalt9317, you and Tuareg are clearly only here to make money by any means necessary. I can’t help you. Have you ever thought about visiting Indeed.com or Monster.com? Both of those sites have an international section and can help you find jobs anywhere in the world.

Instead of giving you Merit you don't need just wanted to say good job. Let's call it a proverbial thumbs up, lol.

Thanks again for your help in the past, if it wasn't for your service and others I wouldn't have half the Merit I do have. I've also kind of given up on looking for it, since my last push,  I found it was taking me further away from what I enjoyed on the forum.

Also not expecting a reply as per OP, just wanted to say my piece

You are the same as the others above but at least you come right out and say it.

Quote
“Me too. I dont have a stable job( I am unemployed too) but I am hoping that living in crypto currency will give me a chance to improve my living with my family, I am still new here and I know I need to know a lot of things about bitcoin that's why I spare my time in reading all about it, coz i know that if I learn a lot of things with bitcoin and  when time comes I find a job, I could still do bitcoin as for my extra income as long as I could still manage them well. Bitcoin can do more on what you are expected and there is no wrong in living in cryptocurrency daily

This is a great idea for merit distribution. I would like to see something like this on a larger scale where users can apply to have previous posts vetted and merit assigned (maybe on an information at the time basis). I've definitely read a number of posts that i feel should have got merit, however I do not have the power to show my appreciation, then looked at other posts by the user and see they have contributed without reward (especially as some posts are before the merit regime). Maybe this is something to be addressed by the 'merit sources', perhaps each member could get an allocation of SMerit to be given every month.

Thought I'll take a crack at getting that juicy 20 merit Smiley  Op I understand your a bitcoin maximalist but some altcoins do serve a very real purpose such as privacy coins with anonymous transfers.  Don't know if you've been on the dark web markets recently but most sellers only take privacy coins now.  Of course Bitcoin will always remain the king of the crypto world though.

Hydro, marinecoin, Elixir, ethereum, Rebellious, wanchain and on and on and on. I think the only coin you don’t support is bitcoin. LOL

All that shit is just polluting the hell out of bitcoin and it’s potential user base so it’s profiteering temporary supporters can glean a few fiat pennies out of them.

If the true value of those worthless shitcoins were gasoline they couldn’t power an ants motorcycle around the inside of a fucking Cheerio.

Nice try though.

Seems very unfair to declare everything that isn't bitcoin a shitcoin.  They have altcoin boards on this forum for a reason.  Of course I still support bitcoin, you can't support crypto without supporting btc.

Other coins fulfill certain needs such as privacy, lower fees, tokenization of assets, faster transfers,  peer lending and crowdfunding etc.  If you actually researched any of the projects I support you will find the lmerit of each one.

A lot of people are still scared to invest in bitcoin because the founder has over 5 percent of the supply.  There is a lot of speculation that he could eventually dump.  It's a very real concern that he stopped being public so a lot of doubt still lingers in the air.

I really wish they didn’t allow altcoins on this forum at all. There is nothing that can be done using any altcoin that can’t be done with bitcoin. You can make bitcoin private, you can make bitcoin faster, bla, bla.
