I think you are absolutely right. I don't think Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin any time soon, but it's better investment option right now.

I think both ETH and BTC have very bright futures ahead of them. Crypto is still a very small market so it's not necessarily zero sum, a lot of this value can come in from fiat currencies to drive up valuations

Exactly. I think Ethereum is becoming a better store of value in the short term (in at least 3 months). The reason that Ethereum is more stable than Bitcoin in terms of value is Ethereum is used on a daily basis not only as a media of payment transfer but also as a media to invest in hot ICOs. Bitcoin, however, is used less and less every day due to its super high transaction fee.

What's been said by Op is agreeable, but this won't let the price reach the value of bitcoin. Ethereum has been getting stronger when bitcoin gets into the regulated use. In this regard more switching towards ethereum from bitcoin too has taken place leading to growth.

It is sure that ETH's exchange rates will be equal to Bitcoin in the future, but if your opinion is that in 2018 I think it is doubtful. At present, the prices of cryptos are in the trend of decreasing rapidly, so the increase of ETH rate equal to Bitcoin is impossible. In the future, ETH will completely replace Bitcoin because around the altcoins are using Blockchain 2.0 technology of Ethereum.

This is so true. Even worse are the transaction confirmation times. People who are new to cryptocurrency won't benefit from lengthy transaction confirmation times or having to deal with any mysteries about where their funds are at any moment. Ethereum has a definite edge in those areas.

I think exactly the same, and I'll repeat it until ETH will reach BTC price (it will, I'm pretty sure).
95% of new ICOs are ETH-based, ETH is faster, easier and more accessible than BTC.

All the ICO uses ethereum platform. Bitcoin has one big drawback: the high cost of transactions. If they do not figure out how to eliminate this defect in bitcoin, the ethereum can overtake bitcoin.

I doubt it, Ethereum is a good cryptocurrency but it has its own use and you cannot compare both of them because they have their own unique features. Bitcoin today is considered as store of value just like gold and not only for payment while Ethereum is a good smart contract platform for utility tokens.

Ether will not reach such a price, because its coins are much larger than that of bitcoin, but it can cost 15-20% of the bitcoin price when the capitalization is the same as that of the bitcoin.
