Bitcoin is still the base of all alts . To buy alts you need to buy bitcoin first ,thus it will never unpopular or irrelevant . Yes other coins might make you more profits but i think of bitcoin as storing value that in the long run gonna make me profits on my assets too. Bitcoin price might dump drastically if more alts became paired with other coins and there was no need to buy bitcoin first to buy alts. |

I don't think so, according to some surveys that promotes about how popular the bitcoin is, its rapidly still growing! And for some country is freshly known. And investors are still about to come!

Bitcoin is still one of the best known crypto currency put there, let's be honest here. If you ask people on the street about Bitcoin they might have heard of it but if you ask them about litecoin or ethereum or any other coin most likely they won't even know what are you talking about. People see btc price to be as it is today and tend to think it is expensive for them to buy ad an investment so they move to more risky coins out there in hope to find the next goldmine. If you pay attention if btc price goes down alts follow and reverse, bitcoin is still the king of them all and one in which most of the people have faith. Bitcoin is still the base of all alts . To buy alts you need to buy bitcoin first ,thus it will never unpopular or irrelevant .
Yes other coins might make you more profits but i think of bitcoin as storing value that in the long run gonna make me profits on my assets too.
Bitcoin price might dump drastically if more alts became paired with other coins and there was no need to buy bitcoin first to buy alts.
Some exchanges offer different pairs like binance have eth and neo pair for example etc. But still most of exchanges have only btc pairs. |

Bitcoin is still dominating the market from front. Its popularity is increasing daily. No other coin is stable. This is a high volatile market. Only those people are selling who is panicking, those who have patience they will continue to hold because they knows btc has huge potential to rise back.

It is sad but Bitcoin best years are over  Mainly because bitcoin became so congested and stopped developing itself while other currencies progressed. It doesn't help also that only big miners can mine BTC and not average GPU/CPU users. This is not what Sathoshi wanted. Mining should be available for everyone. But now we have hard fork called Bitcoin Cash which is 8 times faster and much cheaper, which resembles Satoshi idea more closely. And many other altcoins to choose from. |

Actually, every coin is down right now; https://coinmarketcap.com/Bitcoin is down roughly 6% in the last 24 hours, whilst ripple is down almost 10%. This is an indication that the entire market is depressed, rather than people losing faith in bitcoin. |

Im holder since many years and I have seen many feared people asking about the downfall of the popularity of the bitcoin just because they saw the dropped prices of the bitcoin and the instability off course. But lets clear some air here, the bitcoin's popularity is always ever green and it actually increasing in the exponential ways. This up surge of the popularity will come back when the prices of the bitcoin will start rising again in the mid way year or so. People believe it more depending on its prices and not depending upon what bitcoin is. If today the ETH is growing then they will run behind it and when they will see the downfall of it then they will run behind the another coin. Thats how the whole thing works here. Lets hope bitcoin will be back in action soon and then you will find its popuaithy regaining too. :-) |

Bitcoin is the basic of blockchain and the base to all altcoins. But the issue is that, bitcoin's technology needs upgradation and that upgradation needs to be adopted by the common mass. Like A majority of the bitcoin investors don't know that Segwit has come in to effect and miners have started mining bigger blocks. If we use segwit enabled wallets, the fees of transaction will be very less and speed is way faster than the conventional network transaction. So we need awareness for the mass adoption. It's true that bitcoin has lost a little percentage of its popularity, but it is still the number one coin in all aspects even after this massive competition in the crypto market. Once the network problems are solved completely, bitcoin will again rise and many investors will come back to the market. It has lot of potential left. |

These are the current situation status but every investors are looking to long term investment so Bitcoin profit more than any other altcoins this is the main reason to many investors. In actual reason is promising in future environment and most of the peoples are trusted in Bitcoin so never affects the popularity. It will maintain a same potential in crypto world. |

In my opinion bitcoin will not lose its popularity even though there are scam Altcoins that have been ruining the name of bitcoin, I might say that there are other people that are using the name of bitcoin to scam people these had cause bitcoin its legitimacy and make countless country to ban bitcoin, But I got to admit even though there are these negative news circulating in the internet, bitcoin will surely recover from these we don't need to make it popular it is already known to the public that there is this kind of technology that will make them free from the system of surviving from work.

I agree with all the above comments. Bitcoin popularity going down gradually but still its still the basis of Blockchain which makes it possible for it Not to go into extinction because it will always be used to purchase the recent altcoins.

Bitcoin still is the popular coin! Investors would catch their eyes onto the ones who really exceeded there first place in the means of banking. Still, we can't tell about the other coins stability unlike bitcoins. |

I think it is more the fact that there aren't big dumps or pumps , it is staying at the same level more or less. People seem to lose interest fast that way, they are here for the quick money.

Don't estimate bitcoin popularity based on its price, bitcoin is always the best and actually it is gaining popularity day by day. Most of the negative news spread across is about bitcoin which actually is a good sign of growth and this way it is getting popular too. Rather than spreading good thing in a good manner, good things in a negative news will spread and gain popularity in super fast.

The only reason that bitcoin has all the FUD about it is because the corporate news channels are all on board to drive it down for the benefits of their masters.
Cryptocurrency is the future, everyone knows it. Bitcoin is a finite resource within this new cryptocurrency financial system, it is also the main asset class of this new system.
They want it all and they are doing everything within their power to make all the weak handed people sell their bitcoin to them. Don't give them it. Keep it all and buy more.

No, it is just the strategies of whales and some bad news happened in other countries that is why the price is dropping. But I am sure that bitcoin will recover again soon. Maybe in march or in mid of this year. I heard that what is happening now with bitcoin is normal and it will recover soon. |
