I did try to ask couple of people about crypto, they say what is crypto and I told them basically a virtual currency, most of the people I ask have the same respond which is "oh bitcoin right". The fact that those people call crypto as bitcoin means that bitcoin is definitely the most famous crypto right now. Even those who have no idea that those thousands of coins have different name, still call them bitcoin I think that is enough evidence that bitcoin is the most popular.

Right now there are more coins available in the market which gives you more profit than bitcoin.
Bitcoin price is also not stable.
All these factors affect its popularity ??
What you think, still bitcoin is more popular ?
Bitcoin is still the base of all alts . To buy alts you need to buy bitcoin first ,thus it will never unpopular or irrelevant . Yes other coins might make you more profits but i think of bitcoin as storing value that in the long run gonna make me profits on my assets too. Bitcoin price might dump drastically if more alts became paired with other coins and there was no need to buy bitcoin first to buy alts. got it mate,how would bitcoin lose its popularity when before any coins bitcoin must be at first,and its not because bitcoin price is dropping means its non popular by trend,try to check the market now,and you will see that every coins are bleeding theres maybe fewer that can count by our fingers that in green,but not pumping higher than 20% |

No matter how many alt coin that are in the market today bitcoin will still remains the most popular among all the cryptocurrencies because bitcoin is the king and the father of cryptocurrencies, when you call cryptocurrency the first image that come to mind is bitcoin and that is popularity. All other cryptocurrencies are enjoying the glory of bitcoin.

Ones popularity occur it will never be gone. Bitcoin is part of the history, so the term "loses" doesn't suit to it, maybe the exact term is it will be more popular as years passes by. Bitcoin may go through ups and down of value but still it can recover.

For me, bitcoin is becoming more popular than it was before. I don’t think bitcoin is losing its popularity. Actually, it continues to grow and gain more investors. These investors and enthusiasts are promoting bitcoins to gain more trust in people. The value of btc now may go through ups and downs, but we cannot deny that it is getting more popular now. |

You know what, this too is a threat to BTC. All ALTs are heavily in the red not because they're shit, but because their USD value is based on their BTC value (& thus people see the USD value go down, and they sell). This alone is probably make more exchanges provide direct USD/EUR/ETH/whatever pairs for ALTs, reducing BTC's dominance even more. It tomorrow *all* exchanges exclusively provided USD/ALT pairs for all ALTs, this bloodbath would look very different, so it's not just a matter of perspective, it would also really affect the market. Perhaps that's a good reason to change that. On the other hand, for the exchanges that chose to go with USDT instead of real fiat, it's even worse for the reasons we know... |

It isnt about the Bitcoins popularity among the people that is affecting the actual market it is the supply and demand of the people involved in the trading of it. One factor of it is the Government that facilitate and regulating it in different country , Another one is the bitcoins transaction time and fee as it goes higher and slower the people are switching on some altcoins because of it.

Just like what you have been said bitcoin has an unstable price which is true and it is normal. Usually bitcoin is start to increase its price when it is holiday that everyone is start to sling their bitcoin and it is one of the factors that affects the price of bitcoin. |

Of course theres no need to ask for. Bitcoin is the main use by almost all who've started in Digital Currency. Perhaps that alternative coin/tokens in the market still an alternative coin which have different projects that they want to applied as a use of their own coins. Yes, its affect to the popularity of bitcoins it contributes more in exploding the cryptocurrency. Bitcoins still popular and it was more gaining the popularity the reason now how many people company wants to manipulate the price. |

NO I think bitcoin is still popular. Many peoples are showing interest in bitcoin they talking about bitcoin, peoples telling to their friends and family about bitcoin. I know the price of bitcoin is not stable. sometimes it increases and sometimes decreases but still i think it is much popular.

Why should it looses its popularity? maybe at the moment it looses some value. But loosing value isnt equal wit loosing popularity. Actually theres a huge dump. But after the dump when everything is going up, the popularity of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be higher then anytime. So next time when bitcoin dumps so hard again, people will remember what happend in the last time and would startin invest!

Whenever someone hear about the market, 1st thing which comes in mind is Bitcoin. And yes, nowadays first you have to buy bitcoin than you go for alts. I don't think bitcoin is loosing popularity. It is the base of all crypto market. |

I can see that Bitcoin is clearly losing its demand which is just right because of the many uncertainties. We'll see how attempts to regulate it goes.. Turbulent times are still ahead.
