Do you agree that facebook banned all that promote ico's and bitcoin?

Facebook is one of the most influencial socialmedia platform thats why most of the people in the U.S were being protected by facebook,in my own opinion facebook is really doing what the U.S government tell them to do,SEC prohibited U.S citizens from joining ICOs thats why facebook is just following what SEC's regulation about ICOs,because most of the ICOs today are just raising a lot of funds and will eventually run away from these investors.If you really read the facebook's TOS it doesnt mean posting or sharing links with crypto-related topic using your profile will get you banned they will only stop accepting PAID-ADVERTISEMENTS with these ICOs,you still can post and share links of ICOs in your own profiles.

That's the same thing I have been telling my friends that Facebook ban only paid advertisement, many of them are thinking that it ban cryptocurrencies posting links. I tried to correct them but they wouldn't hear. Thank you for also telling them the correct thing maybe they will understand this time.

Well it must be due to the negative feedback and comments that lots of FB users left after viewing the ad. Facebook is very strict of the type of ads that the want to be displayed on their platform thus with the general bear market in crypto and all the FUD going around I am not surprised.

Good idea
I didn't think of that. But is's quite possible since FB ist really struggling at the moment. The last change of tactics reverting back to a feed generated more out of personal content (friends post and so on) is clearly showing they have to change directions to monetarize better. ATM the time users are staying on the site and paying attention to it is dropping constantly.
A new way to monetarize the brand would really being building a own crypto by doing an ICO. This would really shed a new light on the current measures against other cryptos.

That'ssad new for us especially to those people who are doing campaign in facebook, maybe we can use another social media to promote it. We can never know what might happen, so we need to do is accept the decision of owner of facebook.maybe they saw a negative feedback about crypto so they banned it.

Facebook has banned all advertising for cryptocurrencies because they are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices. But what about those ICO's that are not a scam? And giving some people ideas about cryptocurrencies. Is this fair? Anyway, even if its not fair, we should follow rules.

I don't know about that, i mean facebook is a private enterprise and they could ban whatever the heck they want.  I've been seeing crypto related posts on my wall in my personal facebook account and i can say that they have this spam-ish feel to it. If i don't see these things and these posts don't seem like an advert then well and good. What i think they should do is just straight up pay facebook and make their posts as a real ad.

I don't think that this will be such an important decision. Instead of paying the advertising to Facebook now the teams of new project can increase payments for bounty hunters who can promote them on their facebook accounts and crypto-related groups.

In that case I think we can use another social media to promote ICO, and accept that we cannot use anymore the facebook. I'm hoping that other social media will not do the same what facebook do, it will very difficult to us if might happen that to crypto to banned to all social media. And to those do promoting in social media there ICO make sure your promoting ICO is not scam because if they know it of the owner of other social media, maybe it will do the same what facebook do.

I think it's a shame generally speaking. Though some ads in the space were likely bad actors, limiting the market doesn't lead to better outcomes. Not being challenged and having the capacity to make mistakes will only lead to greater scams that become even more unrecognisable in the future.

I think the banned only paid ads, not all promotions about ico and bitcoin because if all promotions about bitcoin / ICO are banned from facebook I'm sure many people are switching to using other social media to talk about bitcoin and ico

I don't agree in banning bitcoin advertising in Facebook because for me the best social media I use in online is Facebook I easily recognized how to use all its features than other social media and it is hard for me if it will get ban in the list of advertising it online, maybe there's a way to talk about it I will do that but I'm not a official admin of bitcoin so we just leave it to our admin to make it a part of Facebook again.

I read this news, too, and Facebook is smart for removing all the ICO spam--because that's essentially what it is, if I'm understanding their intention correctly.  They're tired of idiots posting the ICO/altcoin garbage which is flooding everyone's feeds.  And yes, I think most ICOs are complete scams and nobody should be advertising them.

When you get a flea infestation, you have to go with the flea bomb.  That's what Facebook is doing here.  And a good part of Asia is now weeping.  So sad.

I wont agree with this kind of an idea. Facebook.is one of the biggest industry in social media which can be used to a campaign that investors will attract of it. But i really want to get lost all of the scams project that posted here because when investors are eager to invest heavily and they will see that it was a scam, for sure they lose a big amouny. So investors feel a bad thought when they see sometimes in social media where many have promoted it.

It is true that a lot of ICOs are a scam, but there are some legit ICO projects too. Banning all is not a fair decision. I think Facebook authorities would reconsider their decision soon.

I strongly disagree that facebook prohibits people from sharing ICO or bitcoin links. What's the problem prohibiting people? Because Facebokk is a place to share. And we just promote not to invite people to invest.
