Chinese New Year is really long holiday, that's why our crypto is so unstable. All speculations will be ended in the March

one or two months maybe. And then, the market still need about 3-4 months to recovery in order to grow stronger. Well, I have to say that if you accidentally buy bitcoin at $18000, you have to wait for a long long time in order to have profit. Hope that everything will occur sooner than I expect

I think Chinese New Year - only one of the reasons. Possible main reason - Bitfinex-tether founders withdraw funds for the audit. We will see.

How much hope is due to the fact that after the New Year people will be able to breathe out all the stress that they are hoarding today. You see what is now happening in the market of crypto-currency, I think that all this should end after the Chinese New Year.

we're pretty near to Chinese New Year and we today see crash again happened for bitcoin and altcoins even some of altcoin had dropped more than 20% from the previous price but there are some people who predicted after Chinese New Year the price will gradually rise up and let see whether their predictions will correct or not but i personally want the price of cryptocurrencies before Chinese New Year can rise up again

What are your thoughts on the whole Chinese New Year speculation?

A lot of people think there's gonna be another crash during that time. Did you buy during this initial crash or are you waiting for mid Februar.? I'm leaning towards the latter.
In my own humble opinion chinese new year is one of the factors, another thing is the FUD that was spread few days back,a lot of it triggered a lot of people including most of the investor to do panic selling that resulted to bloody market, manipulations from the big players added the extra doubt to most of the people's mind if bitcoin can really survive the bloodbath, thou it happened causing more people panicked that shouldnt be happening when most of the people are doing their research, negative news comes from unknown sources are surely just FUDs.

In the weeks leading up to the Chinese New Year, the market drops because the Chinese are pulling out their money for the New Year. The Chinese New Year is like “Christmas, New Years and Thanksgiving all rolled into one.” I hope that the bitcoin price to turn around and go back up again.

Agree that the price have come down due to Chinese New year and may be price may sharply dip bit low, but this is normal every year. This is not the only reason but this is the major reason for dip in all cryptocurrency. Don't worry, everything would come to normal within this month end or during first week of March. Until then hold your crypto if you have and buy as much as possible in this period to sell at a good price.

Good thoughts mate, it looks like for the next couple weeks we seem to be on a downtrend for Chinese New Years. It does suck but you gotta go through these movements in order to get to the grass on the other side.

Yes china has made the cryptocurrency illegal this has made a great impact on bitcoin and even other currency because the holders of bitcoin are huge in china. Soon there will be a news regarding that bitcoin was a bubble and biggest financial crysis will be coming soon.

i think that this time bitcoin is very low and think it will not reach an even lower price because after this period with the beginning of march it will go rocket to the moon.

A lot of celebration on February 14, on day that will be valentines day, Chinese new year and Ash wednesday. Anyway a lot of Chinese people spending their money on Chinese new year because they believe that this is a good luck for them so most of them they will incash their money in bitcoin to spend it. On the other hand btc will increase again the value because after new years day they will invest again here in btc. This is my own opinion don't get mad at me specially Chinese people.

People believe whatever you do on Chinese New Year will happen throughout the year.  So if you're selling at a loss, you'll end up with losses throughout the year.  I would rather buy on Chinese New Year which means, I'll be buying throughout the year.  You have to have money to buy and you only sell when you need money.

Looks like they sold before the New Year and now they can't get back in because of the crack down on cryptos in China.  I think our trip to the moon is gonna fall short and we'll end up floating in space for a while.  Go figure, nothing follows a pattern indefinitely. Huh

There is some kind of correlation between crypto and Chinese new year.
Here is the link that someone posted. It shows price downfall for last few years.

Yes, as we see now it plays, if not the key one, then one of the main roles. But to bring down to kopecks, I think this will not happen, although the Chinese spend a lot of money for the new year. I think that now it is necessary to buy.

What are your thoughts on the whole Chinese New Year speculation?
As expected, the same thing during Christmas and New years season. There were too many Chinese crypto people that are starting to cash out and crypto market isn't the only thing that's affected but also stock market.
A lot of people think there's gonna be another crash during that time.
Those people are correct, crypto market is crashing hard now.  Cry
Did you buy during this initial crash or are you waiting for mid Februar.? I'm leaning towards the latter.
I have bought at $9,000 and now it went down to $6,900.

Probably yes, since many bitcoin holders are Chinese, so during their holidays some of them will melt some of their bitcoins.
