Cryptocurrency-related advertisements have stopped appearing on Chinese search engine Baidu and social media platform Weibo, amidst reports of China’s government tightening cryptocurrency and Initial Coin Offering regulations on Sunday, Feb. 4.

The Financial Times of the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) was told today, Feb. 4, that China will further increase regulatory pressure on cryptocurrency exchange sites and Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), Chinese news site Sina reported.

Seems cryptocurrency will not recover so much in a short time...
not a good move by the Chinese government for their country now the market will be shook because of this move the governments can't control this currency that is why they ban it

They are not banning it, they are just increasing regulations. Which I think is not a huge problem, because unless regulated, scammy ICOs run amok, as we have all seen. Asking ICOs to comply with some ground rules is not a problem in my opinion.

In my own opinion, a lot of news about government restricting cryptocurrency is affecting cryptocurrency price. I am new here and as far as I can remember, China restricts crypto currency every year and goes back to crypto again when prices starts falling. I guess this is one of their ways of manipulating market price.

apparently china always can be have affect for price movements and after they were published bad news and suddently major cryptocurrencies has dropped and although most people say no need to panic but they should be worried because to recover back to $19k again for bitcoin it will took more time to do so

From last year august onwards they are doing this idiot move buddy. They have the many companies and people supporting the crpytos including bitcoin bro. For example: Viabtc, Bitmain, BTCC and etc. We will know that if they completely wash out the crypto investment what will happen in the market.

I stongly believe that bitcoin value will be touch the 25k as everyone expected end of this year.

Theres nothing new with this china ban, this is how the bigplayers manipulating the whole market of cryptocurrency, financial institutions and whales are going to spread FUDs and after people got panic selling they will buy a lot of solid coins after that they will release some positive news from the paid websites or even there in bitcointalk, then they will sell it on the peak, repeat until they got most of the bitcoin's supply.

Why am I not surprised? I admit china' s decision and regulations affects the price because of their humungous population. But what if we will forget about them? What if market will forget about the existence of China and its people? Do you have anything to worry about? Definitely none. Market has been saddend by the situation but rest assured market will rise up again and for us who has been loyal to crypto will be paid off. All our trust issues and patience will be paid off.

In the current situation of bitcoin today as volatility has greatly affected the market demands, I'm not surprise that China as well as other countries find cryptos not good for regalization and market adaptability. Since cyrptos don't have a stable market price it will continue to become an investment asset rather than a currency and more country will decide to banned exchanges rather than supporting it.

Another FUD to dump the market... I'm already tired of reading negative news from China. I hope that crypto spring will soon come and bitcoin will begin to grow with the whole market. For China it is very disadvantageous and even silly to prohibit crypto.

HOPE THAT IT IS JUST A RUMOR. Although I do not like the china, I have to admit that they are really good in the cryptocurrency and they know how to develop the blockchain, ICO and smart contract. This country born a lot of intelligent people and it will be a waste if they ban bitcoin all over the country. CHina is still one of the most powerful country on this planet
We cannot stop them, if the Chinese government does not want their citizens and themselves to be part of one of the technologies that is going to change the world for the better then that is fine for me, that means on average the rest of the people not living in china will benefit even more from cryptocurrencies, so that is fine with me since it means more money in my pocket in the next years and decades.

The news is not clear to me. They will take steps to regulate the market? Or they will make new rules on trading? Blockchain is anonymous. So they cant regulate an anonymous thing. They can introduce some rules to prevent fraud, so bullshit ICO can't steal our money. China is one of the strongest country in world economy. They really did nice job on blockchain and crypto. May be they are scared of BTC like other government. Cause blockchain is going to be the main stream economy and way of transaction

With the FUD driving down the prices, and the regulations that seem to be mounting, I wonder if this could be the year of the "Privacy" coin. For example DeepOnion is a privacy coin utilizing the TOR network. It is anonymous and 100% untraceable. It seems like coins like this one will have a huge impact on the crypto market.

I agree with you, but I will add something. Chinese government can block TOR network, if you want to use it, you need some obfuscation protocol,  like OBFS4. This protocol has been recently implemented in DeepOnion and has been successfully tested by Chinese people in China. It works fine and passes thought the Chinese firewall, you can check it here:

The fact that the Chinese government once again decided to toughen the circulation of the crypto currency in its country, can not seriously affect the state of the whole country. However, in recent years, something has become too much negative information from governments of different countries. Maybe there really is some conspiracy against bitcoins or even crypto-currencies in general? I will not be surprised at this now. So all synchronously it turns out, that hardly it can be casual. In addition, for some reason, the bitcoin development team has not eliminated its shortcomings for too long, and some have already suggested that this inactivity is also intentional. However sooner or later, bitcoin should again recover and grow in price.

Welll all depends on what you read and your own decisions. I saw pictures of crypto ATM's being made and moved around China yesterday. Think about NEO - for sure the government is encouraging it and before too long we will see NEO become like WeChat pay and AliPay. Mark my words people. Additionally DeepOnion has the latest TOR protocol, Meek integration and OBFS4 tech so can be used by people everywhere - think of horrible places in the world and yes now you can use privacy coins there. Spectre says its good, but it lacks in so many ways. Please dont believe all the FUD and BS out there. Think with your head and find good projects

Yeah,  more so than this odd seemingly global resistance to crypto -    I get so tired of people freaking out and dumping at any sign of slightly negative news.   I decided last week to just stop looking at more porfolio and come back in a month or two.    It's tough to do, but so far so good.   If I was smarter I'd throw so extra money into this sale.

I'm honestly surprised privacy coins in general have dumped so much.   You'd think with this type of news,  people would rush to throw their money into that space.

In my opinion this is the best thing the Chinese government could have done for
push NEO, GAS and privacy coins.
That's why today I took the big decision of buy more provacy coins:
DeepOnion and ZenCash.
Their privacy concepts, in my opinion, are the top of the markets.
Deep Onion uses the TOR network with also the OBFS4 protocol.
Zencash instead uses secure nodes and DAO.
What do you think about these 2 coins guys?
