Are you going to be providing a reference design for your chips, or just the spec sheet?

Thanks

Yes, there will be our reference design too but a lot more will be available from community users once our board development contest will start in the next few days, everything will be open source.

Precisely, key here is that difficulty will NOT grow exponentially forever, right now it is because of the technological shift and the widespread growth of people mining, but eventually the growth will get back to linear as it was before early 2013.

- $160/BTC exchange rate

Did I miss anything?

Please - someone explain and show me how this chip will ever make profit or at least achieve ROI?

You're missing that $160/BTC was hit today, and that fact invalidated all of your just mentioned theory and calculations.

That's the amazing part of the Bitcoin world, it's just soooooo much unpredictable!  Grin

As far as invenstments in crypto coin hardware are affected, it is delusive to bring a rising price forward as an argument. The only way to measure the ROI for such an investment is by comparing the invested crypto coins and the returned crypto coins.

Because a direct investment in such coins takes profit from rising prices as well Wink

...and you don't have to wait for hardware and suffer from rising difficulties Cheesy

That's one reason why I'd never put all money on one chance. It might be a good idea to invest money in hardware _and_ crypto coins directly. So you can hope to even out a bad development in one area with a maybe better one if the other area...

no - there are lots of other situations where people enjoy ROI that isn't pure BTC spent to BTC earned

that is why ROI on avg is a bit lower than BTC spent to BTC earned.   Fees & hassle on buying BTC, not easy to use credit cards on coins but can on miners.. etc

Hello Giorgiomassa,

I'm discovering your company and saw your CoinCraft Desk product.
I have a few questions :

1) Is it possible to pick up the product directly in Switzerland and not pay for the shipment ?
2) The product uses 1875 Watts with five 200Gh/s modules in turbo mode. To my knowledge, there are no 1875+ watts power supply that exist. Do you use multiple power supplies ?
3) I see that the power supply is included. Is it possible to order the product without any power supply ?
4) You talk about power-saving and turbo mode. Is there a normal mode ?
5) If there is a normal mode, what's the power usage ?
6) If I place an order for the "Preorder queue". How much time do I have to pay for the product before my order is canceled ?
7) If I place a order now, it will be shipped before January ? (as I red that there will be an other discount for the January batch)

Thanks,
AFox

Hi there, sorry for being late in replying you.

1) Yes of course, choose local pickup once you checkout
2) That is a very conservative estimate, we will be able to make a standard ATX fit for this purpose
3) Unfortunately no, this option is cause of potential problems so we have avoided it as we didn't with the Avalon clones
4) Yes, nominal is "normal" mode
5) Less than 1000W at the wall
6) Usually payment (or payment receipt) is due within 2 business days.
7) Yes, we're still in the December delivery

Could you please tell us how many units do you have in queue for shipping in December right now? If not then how many units can you assemble per week? I am asking this because i would be interested in buying your miners, but since every company has delays i think this information is important for new buyers.

Isn't 50btc.com a mining pool?  I didn't know they sold miner preorders.  The question seems more like one that 50btc.com themselves should answer.

I'm more interested to know: Has tapeout happened yet?

I was looking at the CCD-MODULE upgrade to add to my existing order, and when I review the cart it wants to add a separate shipping charge for it.  I thought the module  would come pre-installed inside the main unit and they would all ship as one unit.

Is the additional shipping charge correct?

I bought CCD upgrades and selected "local pick up" and upgrade order was completed, so I guess that´s the way to go with modules providing that you have also main unit in order queue.

exactly, we will upgrade your base order with the upgrade and you don't loose the queue position
