I just saw this somewhere on the internet. Are there any fake coins existing? How do you avoid buying fake coins?
I don't call them fake coins, rather i call them unsuccessful coins. There are a lot of these coins on the market which are developed by inexperienced team which is incapable of carrying the coin to a success. It is always smart to read about the team members of each project before investing in them.

I think it called death project coin and not fake coins. Too many coin/token in market and its hard to determine good coin or death coin. But i identify death coin by their daily transaction volume, if they have small transaction volume, i will not buying that coin

fake coin. in my opinion there is a coin that has no value and no exchange. This fake coin is found on some ico that contain scams. this was very disappointing because it was very detrimental and made a bad image on crypto currencies

Usually fake crypto is use MLM marketing to sell their coin, like Onecoin and Bitconnect. This crypto just use ponzi shceme and fraud. Real crypto is has Proof of stake or Proof of work mining reward and less premine.

I just try to wonder what is fake coin. Fake coin it is the coin which does not based on the blockchain,  but I'm not sure that it is active now,  because it is not problem to create real coin for scam purposes.

This is probably before you buy altcoins, analyze them based on the coin concept, its team as well as the community. It is very important to first understand what you will be investing in altcoin, especially a coin from some IOS.

There are coins that are pump and dumps. No real project backing behind, only empty promises to keep  the price up and then those holders will dump on the fomoers, and possibly will do exit scam. So be careful when buying alts, right now there's a lot of coins made everyday through airdrop, ICO.

With all the ICO boom it was almost assured that a lot of fake coins or scams would appear soon or later, after all, there is money involved so we have to be even more careful now that the market is down.

When you buy coins, look to see where the person is sending the coin from. If it's Chinese or Hong Kong, don't bid! No matter how attractive the coin looks, no matter how big the deal you think, no matter how good the sales promotion is, don't buy coins from Chinese or Hong Kong sellers.

Yes of course, there are many scam coins out there. An example is Monero Gold that manipulated the total supply of its token
earlier this year, many lose huge amount of money on the project as a result of massive dump within a short period of time. One can get to know about the scam coins by carrying out thorough research on projects and finalize which is good and which is not.

theres no fake coin at all but theres a lot of scam and they use different coins to incourage people to make an investment through thier site. To avoid this do research first before dive on investment.
Obviously here in the world of crypto currency there are a lot of fake coins as they try to scam and convince those users to invest there fake coins. At first place it looks like a legit coin but somehow as time goes by they just divert the mindset of those users who invested and in the end they just suddenly disappeared and vanished through telegram and any other communications that may involved. I hope we must be vigilant and observant to avoid those fake coins here in the crypto currency community.
