Bitcoin of course. Don't underestimate the King of crypto. Better techs will come up and go, but the brand name of Bitcoin will be eternal.

For long term the most reliable project are still some of the most famous ones, like BTC, LTC, ETH and Waves.
Regarding new emerging coins or tokens, I suggest you to take a look at MYST and InvestFeed for long term.

Your choice is right for long-term investment and you can see and research NEO, XLM, LTC and there are also some new alt that worth considering such as CND, MTH and TIO. Because they have been proven and have survived long in the crypto world. I am sure they will be very potential in the future, but do not forget also BTC and ETH.

just my opinion but i say a coin that is supposed to be good in long term is a coin that has some actual usage in real world because as a cryptocurrency they all have the crypto part right and most of them are copying it anyways. so now they have to fulfill the currency part. and unless they can do it or try to do it, i don't consider them as good long term investments.
with this definition only bitcoin is a viable option and some other smaller altcoins that are trying to do the same can enter the category although they may not have done it yet. coins like Byteball and IOTA come to mind specially Byteball with all the merchant incentives they are doing.

Look who's in the first place now. like bitcoin. you can buy it and keep it for 10 years, and then sell it. I wonder what will happen from this?

The big three still the best crypto to invest Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple. These three are the largest market cap which secure us in terms of coins stability in the market. Aside from that these three are tested also from market vulnerability. Ethereum price almost maintain it's price despite of big cash-out from the market. This are the reason why I'm backing up these three crypto.

Long term in this market is very relative. My worker is at most a year. I keep ETH, NEO, QTUM and ICON just in the long run.

First of all guys, look at what part of the forum this is. Any ideas what to buy now and keep for longer?
The big three still the best crypto to invest Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple. These three are the largest market cap which secure us in terms of coins stability in the market. Aside from that these three are tested also from market vulnerability. Ethereum price almost maintain it's price despite of big cash-out from the market. This are the reason why I'm backing up these three crypto. Largest market cap is not all upsides. Yeah it's well known and traded alot, but also has less room to grow. Ripple is partly centralized, and is pretty high priced compared to how many is in circulation and the total supply. It's success is also heavily dependant on the banks taking use of their product xRapid A lot of people recommend iota, and while that's understandable.. keep in mind that they don't even have a working product. Network and wallet problems. My longterm ALTCOIN picks - NANO, NAS, ONION, PRL, NEBL, EDO/ETHOS. A little riskier, but also alot of gains to be made. Do a little research on these coins and you will understand why.

I think that this year we'll see a lot of alt pumps all over, but as we come closer to the end of the year, the big coins will gain the most. So best strategy would be to hold btc, eth, neo.. and some alts that could go huge (to increase your quantity of the big ones)

I prefer to invest in coins who are newly introduced after ICO. An example of this is Wepower at the moment.

If you want to go for long term investment never forget to include bitcoin on your list then the rest of the altcoins, make it a habit to do your own research because you might regret it one day why you bought a coin not worth the money you've invested. Check in the coinmarket.com site and do research on the top 20 coins listed there in which you think would suit your list of coins to be invested.

Will only propose you look into coins that give passive income if you re in for the long game and the king there is NEO. Qtum, NEBL, LISK all offer similar capacities and in a few months ADA/ETH should too. All things to get into consideration.

Yes you are right that one of the most popular coins than other so if he decides to invest for long term investment that coins was an effective for his and totally he want to hold for a long nice idea if he choose bitcoin or ethereum. But make sure the if he see the coins falling dont panic selling or i advice that don't always monitoring the value but always it up to you what do you choose or what do you want.

If you're not a researchable guy so just simply hold BTC , ETH and LTC. The market is simply reseting right now so it's a good moment for newbies to join.
