The question however is, can blockchain succeed without bitcoin?

For me, yes blockchain can still survive without bitcoin  there are different coins in cryptocurrency so even btc will disappear  blockchain still exist ,the truth is bitcoin cannot survive without blockchain technology.

For me, i think blockchain will still survive without bitcoin because blockchain is a very good invention. And blockchain is so popular even thought bitcoin dissapear still blockchain continue to exist.
