The question however is, can blockchain succeed without bitcoin?

Blockchain is a versatile technology that could go well with any technology out there that is in need of a very secure yet user-friendly features. If bitcoin hadn't  been invented but blockchain is, I bet that it would either be a part of the banking industry or most likely be added as a security feature for social media sites like facebook and others. That is why I think blockchain could live even without bitcoin.

it is true that it is because of bitcoin that blockchain was created by satoshi. but the different between blockchain and bitcoin is that blockchain is independent while bitcoin is dependent on blockchain. so blockchain can survive without bitcoin.

yeah maybe bevause if theres no bitcoin they can still survive it with the hlp of pther coins like ethereum or litecoins and ripple so dont think blockchain wont survive without bitcoin

the system itself is of course interesting! but we must understand that bitcoin is the main currency for which all other coins are traded! the biocide will never die! if the price of the bitcoin drops below 4000, provided that now huge amounts of money are spent on its extraction, then the entire crypto market will collapse!the harvesters will never allow this! a lot of companies have appeared with their coins, and they are also traded mostly for bitcoin! if bitcoin is not going to exist, it turns out the exchanges will stop bargaining ?! a week ago the top 10 crypto coins were added to a large stock exchange! Yes, it can. BTC was made to prove that blockchain is working and reliable. Without blockchain BTC it won't exist. Though BTC helps a lot blockchain to make it popular.

Agree in your point. In addition due to bitcoin existence its strongly promotes some blockchain to develop their technology and others are started to build their system to adapt bitcoin transaction in safe mode. So its existence were depending to each others popularity.

I think the blockchain still has success even without the Bitcoin, that's just my opinion, because many cryptocurrency still continue to blockchain, but Bitcoin is hard to lose, because it is the leader in all cryptocurrency.

In theory, the only thing that's needed for Blockchain is the Internet.
So the Blockchain is unlikely to disappear.

Yes it will survive because before it will happen they will surely creates new system that not base on any kind of bitcoin but if we back then blockchain couldn't survive without bitcoin because bitcoin started the idea of blockchain and make it more founded stronger.

Indeed blockchain as an innovation will survive even without Bitcoin, nobody can ply down on the fact that bitcoin has be awesome. Bitcoin has contributed greatly to blockchain but i personally think that blockchain is going beyond that level where the blockchain market is totally dominated my one coin . You know for the truth and real life regarding crypto currency  BITCOIN is the most famous and dominated ever, you know what? because alt some alt coin is not mention to many people always BITCOIN shouting most especially when the time few people override Bitcoin to use the name and making slander to a some investor and nothing exchange of profit after several months of transaction. so my perception is Bitcoin is still lead at the ground even if there's so many crypto currency come up this year 2018.

The blockchain technology allows bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to record the transaction in a ledger like a format which could be accessible by anybody and in anywhere as long as there is an internet connection. The blockchain technology is used by other cryptocurrencies, thus if that technology didn't sprout the cryptocurrency could not be around or perform differently.
