I this situation,  you will need a whole lot of research and carefulness.  Sometimes the project you think is scam turns out to be real andthose you thought to be real became scam. So you need some time to keep a closer look at it and find some facts out of them.

Now such a strange time that in the Wake of hype frankly weak project can make 500% -1000%, and a fundamental and very promising project immediately after the listing will go down. So it is necessary to clearly understand why and how much a person came to the crypto industry.

Quite difficult to actually determine. Even Bittrex, such a large stock exchange with a reputation could not recognize the RAID scam. Although everything seems to be on their site is beautiful, a lot of partnerships, team experience and everything seems to be good for the standard ico selection points.

for now there is no sure way to find out whether the ICO is a scam or not because the fraudsters also start cleverly hiding their crimes.
and sometimes ICO is actually not cheating but the team cannot develop the project so the project is scam and such things are very difficult to predict.

Hey guys, I'm new to the whole ICO world, and BTCtalk as well. I've been reading about a lot of scammy ICOs that take people's money and run away. I'm looking to invest in a couple of ICOs but have no way of knowing if they are good or not. Can anyone tell me how I can go about doing this without losing any money?

To me, if you want to save yourself the stress of looking up the team on LinkedIn and checking for Red flags on whitepaper and website, only do projects listed on Icodrops.com or icobench.com, in most cases, they have done the authenticity research on behalf of their subscribers

I would recommend you not invest in ICOs in the currency market situation. As the bearish trend has been continuing for a long time, it wouldn't be profitable for you. Wait until the market recovers.

You would never know for sure if the ICO is a scam or not. However there are still a few recommendations following which you can minimize the risk of being scammed. Among them is analysis of the current project, you have to carefully examine whitepaper of the project and its roadmap, checking if the roadmap is real to implement. One of the most important things is team analysis as well. It's not so important what the project and its product are than the dev team who is going to make everything happen. Believe me you will see it clearly if the team is suspicious/not real/fraudulent.

No  particular procedure for checking a scam ICO but you have to known certain thing about  the project before investing in any ICO. Part of what you should know are, check their website to know more about their project, go through their white paper, softcap and hardcap, team members, are they offering product and lastly make enquiry about the project from those that have been in cryptocurrency for long.

I would recommend you not invest in ICOs in the currency market situation. As the bearish trend has been continuing for a long time, it wouldn't be profitable for you. Wait until the market recovers.
but that does not mean that ICO can no longer benefit us all, it is only a matter of time and we are just waiting because in the future ICO can experience renewal so that ICO will be better and so that it can invest and many projects might succeed. we can't argue like that because ICO might change and what will happen next we don't know.

Most times it is hard to identify a scam ICOs, as they will look real and serious, but once they get what they are looking for, their true colour will manifest. On the other hand, to common way is, studying their whitepaper to see what makes them worth it and if their idea can be realised. Secondly, their community, the nature of the telegram group etc. The team and also the road map to know where they have really started etc.

The whole team should be checked for real compliance with their profile, activities and previous achievements. The project must have a high-quality technical document (without errors and inaccuracies). And it is desirable to choose a project with an existing product, which is currently attractive for the market.

If there would be an ai who search for ico's and check it is scam or not that would be awesome.

But right now, it is very hard sometimes. Still, most scam can be found with fake team members.

it is very difficult to predict to determine that a project will end successfully or actually end with a scam, some supporting aspects of the ICO can be an early indication of the future of an ICO project.

Actually there are so many ways but indeed distinguishing between scam or not is something that is indeed quite difficult because very thin differences make it difficult for us to categorize scams or not

i know a lot of sounds legit ICO. but at the end of the campaign they were gone, so there is no definite method in order to filter or trace of this kind, but just try to use the ICO rating site or the ANN thread of this forum, im sure members would post their feedback as well.

There are so many ways to know if one ICO's has a chance to turn into scam, you could know these if you're will be kind and smart ,just like searching their team if the profile of their staff is real and also their project if has a good purpose for use in near future and also there's more.

First of all crypto investments are full of risks so if you are not ready to take some risks then don't try to invest into crypto activities. I can give you all the necessary guidelines that i know but sometimes you just can't stop certain things from happening. I invested in a project called Cryptassist where we had a live video tour of all members of team and where they are based. Almost every community member believed in this project but now nobody knows the stance of this project.

if you want to go ahead  and invest then look at what the project want to achieve and also whether they have the experienced team members to actually achieve it.

well, now there are very many ICOs who try to cover up the fraud and try their best to be able to influence investors so they can be deceived, they certainly won't be easy to stop, they will try in all kinds of ways.

Read the whitepaper and also check the income of the ico, so that we can get data from the project that we will do the investment whether it is suitable or not as an investment, therefore we must be careful in checking it

There's virtually no perfect way to detect a scam ICO, but you can check for some signal such as the popularity of the team members and advisors, the social media presence of the project, the level of communication the team has with the community, etc.
