Hey guys, I'm new to the whole ICO world, and BTCtalk as well. I've been reading about a lot of scammy ICOs that take people's money and run away. I'm looking to invest in a couple of ICOs but have no way of knowing if they are good or not. Can anyone tell me how I can go about doing this without losing any money?
Now a days this the most problematic thing we are facing. There is no doubt that most of all ICO's are Fake/Scam. But there is couple of things that you can do for invest real ICO. first of all read there whit paper and try to know about that project. Join there telegram official channel and ask about the team, future plan, road map etc that you want to know. if you got 100% positive answer then you can invest your money on it.

The easiest way is to find information about ico on the internet because what I see is a lot of people / websites that analyze an ico for a website that I just know is concourseq, and if you are diligent you might be able to find out yourself and start checking profile profile photos use applications like tineye for example
I think finding information about ico that is scam or not from the internet is not easy. because most of the ico managers have anchored investors in advance so that investo can contribute funds to the ico. yes, so far, searching for a project that does not scam is difficult and sometimes it does not match our predictions.

I think it is difficult to identify whether the ICO project is a scam. Many projects will try to hide the bad aspects in the early stage of crowdfunding, making people feel undetectable. It is not easy to find out the real situation of the project until the end of crowdfunding.

First of all, check as many reputable sources as possible about this project; if there are few references to it in the media, then this is sufficient reason to think, and continue to check even more carefully.

But, no matter how they are to hide the bad aspects, it will still be visible. I feel analyze gets to the basics, can find something else

There isn't a sure shot way of knowing whether an ICO is legit or not. But you can definitely follow these things: 1) See if they have a nice and technically sound whitepaper. Whitepaper says a lot about an ICO. 2) Do a background check on the team. If they aren't visible on the internet, they have things to hide. 3) If an ICO has unrealistic expectations out of their token offerings, it means they haven't done their research properly. Shows a lack of dedication and planning. 4) See the advisory board. Big people means good ICO. No big shot advisor would want to be seen as a scammer. For example, a new ICO is coming up. I stumbled upon them through some site. These guys are trying to make good use of blockchain. If you look at their site, it's clean and clear. Their whitepaper is very descriptive. Also, all the founders can be found on the net. It's a good initiative. Check 'em out here - http://enkidu.io/This is clear enough. Unique and original projects have legitimate teams easily verifiable on social media or Internet, they also have a non plagiarised whitepaper and workable Tokenomics.

No, no, friend, request is bad. I led too many projects and received too few coins from them. So investing in ICO is not an option today. Invest only in a cryptocurrency that already works and is in demand. Everything is doomed to failure.

In checking good ico or not, first you must check the flow of their project through their whitepaper, then their team must also not a fake it should be real not a dummy only, then they must have a huge community in their project. And having an escrow is an advantage too. Do not be deceive by their promises.

Actually, you don't completely avoid 100% of ICO scam. They disguise very well. You can only use skills to minimize the rate of scam. Find out about the DEV team, check their information carefully. Check their website, check website traffic, check chat channel telegram ....

I think that there are no clear criteria that would make it possible to know for sure whether the project will be fraudulent or not. It is very difficult to guess now. The cryptocurrency market is still in a bearish trend.

You have to find information in crpyto places. even in this forum, sometimes there are some who discuss some peculiarities of a particular project. well, look for information to avoid scam ICO projects.

It's easy to know if the ICO scam is easy or it's not okay to review the project well as well as their ICO team. Also on the ico team background if they are true and if they run the projects very well and no issues upon them.Chec also the details related on the project.

Of course, I understand that today there is a very big problem of communication with the raid by scammers on the market of ico companies. But the fact is that it cannot be considered an output to the production of a security token, which, in turn, require passport data from the investor and the two participants in the cryptocurrency. In my opinion, I was convinced by the result of the analysis that almost all companies that required to provide personal data could not realize themselves, compared to ico companies that developed and attracted participants according to the old version. We need to look for other ways to combat fraud.

This is one of the major problems now why almost ICO failed, consider the bear market but the lack of trust. Due to 2017 ICO scams, investors are now afraid to invest. But there some ICO which is still worth to invest but you have to take some precaution, invest only what you can afford to loose.

You should check a whitelist, video explanation, team, advisors, ratings and social medias. Good ICO's also have a very fast crowdsale and top-exchange listing. But anyway you have to remember that cryptoinvestment always has a risk.

To tell the truth, there is no 100% reliable method to flag the scam projects. But from my experience, I would say that projects originating from countries with strict crypto regulation, such as Japan, South Korea, Germany and Singapore are less likely to be run by scammers. Also, avoid projects in which the promoters are anonymous.
