My original R808 has been running 24/7 for months now @ 150mhz solid
Reading and following the advice on this board:
Replaced both fans with 50 x 50 x 20 units from Amazon
Both original fans were starting to fail, slowing and chattering but they served their time well up to this point
Original M3 screws were replace with M3 x 50mm. Heatsink was drill & tapped perfectly so replacement was easy
R808 is now running @ 175mhz comfortably
The only downside is louder fans, to be expected tho.
Also changed power supply from the 6A brick to a Corsair Gold PS and using the 6 pin connector
I know it's my imagination but the R808 seems to start faster and run better with the 6 pin connection
Overall, the R808 design was extremely well designed

That's not your imagination; the barrel connector just does not supply enough current. I have a pair that average 107.8 MH/s each @ 250 MHz that have been running for over two months continuously (almost 3 months, now) on a server psu. I could not get above 175 MHz reliably on a wall wart.

I know this is an "old" thread, but I wanted to place a heads up for anyone that gets this far,

You can run the Terminus R808's stable from a barrel connected power brick, just don't by uncertified junk imported from china from Amazon for $10.

We run single R808s at 275Mhz with 0 HW or heat issues off good quality power bricks(yes we sell them) and for larger scale multi unit mining, you can also get a GekkoScience Power Breakoutboard kit and a HP Universal power supply for around $100, if you cant find a good "PC Tower" power supply that fits your needs.

Cool, thanks. I've been looking for a HP power supply. @jstefanop announced a scrypt miner so maybe I can run my Terminus R808 and Apollo on the same power supply!

these do look kinda awsome, Ive been tinkering with a raspberry pi/R808 combination that would work the same way. I dont want to produce the new 3d printed case though till I get ahold of the new model from sidehack

So it looks like one of the fans of a pod is giving up the ghost on me.  It was one I had pre-ordered way back when.  I figured I'd ask, where might be the best place to source a replacement fan?  They're what, something like 4.5 CM square?

5cm. Somewhere back a few pages someone put up an Amazon link to a taller fan that fits and reportedly does a better job cooling. Might also have to track down longer screws.

I have a couple T808s that have been chunking along nicely for a few months. Recently while checking on them, I noticed one had the white lights on solidly, not blinking. I halted the mining and cycled the power. Upon restarting the mining, it appears to be mining well. The hash rate, hardware errors, and such all look to be within spec. Anything I should do or be aware of?

I'd be interested in the box design. Would we need two fans to pull and push air out of the box?

PM me and I will send you a jpg, hand drawn of course for now, but you'll get the general idea. I use 2.5lb soundproof foam for my noise suppression systems. Makes the box a bit bigger but if you have a dual fan arrangement on a single rad like I do, you are working with 18" wide by 12" high and about 20" deep. The ducting is set up almost like a subwoofer using a right angle baffle as the air intake. This way you can pad the air intake and exhaust with sound insulation and mount the pump inside on either springs or rubber bushings. Rad and fan also mount inside about 6" from the right angle exhaust duct. I keep reservoir outside.

Okay, but don't forget that the limiter is heat in the main regulator. Depending on heat, it could cut off at 15A or so, which is only about 6W per chip.

Also, that's a lot of finagling. I'd say once you're taking stuff apart it becomes "roast at your own risk".

I fixed that problem, added a heat sink to the bottom of the board and simply air cool my pods with a common fan. So far it's working quite nicely. What I did was lay a bead of high temp epoxy around the area, leveled it, let it set. Then I filled the center with heat transfer compound, lay another bead of high temp epoxy and attached a heat sink. Not perfect, I would have preferred a compression seating, but it doesn't let go.

New issue cropped up on my pod - anyone have advice?

I am using the brick power supply and the connecter gets loose. Unless it sits just right the unit turns off. It happens about once or twice a week and I have to jiggle the connector to get it to work. Any way to tighten that up?

Hey MinerBobbert, is it the Terminus or the Brick that is having issues?
