I'm going to assume you've got a suitable PSU as you seem familiar with gekko products. Only thing I can say is that its a bad unit. Was it sold as working?

Yes, I think the PSU is good...have tried a few. I do think it is a bad unit. Looking back in this thread I saw that a lot of these were RMA'd and repaired. Was curious what the repair was, and whether any of it was doable by a regular person without specialized equipment.

Sidehack will have to chime in but I believe the fault is the Vcore regulator feeding the chip. I have a proto of one he sent me that can only run at a low freq.

still looking for someone who will do diagnostics and repairs on these. I have one that powers up and the cgminer sees it but it wont hash the lights flash a bit different too.

Hate to toss it and would rather see it get back up and running unless its stupid expensive to fix.

Wrong thread - meant to post in the r606 thread

Hi. Good evening. How are you? So I am having trouble getting the r808 to connect. I have compac f miners too and can get them to run on windows and the raspberry pi. But when it comes to configuration of cgminer vthoang on linux it always fails, the installation. The compac f software on the pi and windows recognizing the r808 but it either goes zombie or off. So now on windows. I tried cgminer 3.7.2 and cgminer 4.12.0, a special one meant for the r808. So set that up today. Using zadig to put the winusb driver and also have the frequency at 25 to start. When it 1st started it kept saying failed usb. It accepted 2 shares and then said off. No matter how many times I restart cgminer it recognizes the r808 but goes straight to off. No white light flashing. Just a solid blue light. I am using my power supply 6 pin connector to power it. So can anyone help with this? A version of cgminer pre compiled that works? I also have evening connected to usb 2.0. No usb 3.0 at all. Any help would be most appreciated. I wish to have the r808 mine solo with my compac f miners. Thank you.
