The bankers and other financial intermediaries in Indonesia surely are very happy with the banning of bitcoins and sad for the INDONESIANS who were denied to experience the beauty of decentralized payment. But I think Indonesian government would realize in the future the many benefits that bitcoin provides to the people. This can be a classic case of banks protectionism. Indonesian were not given an option where to transact their money faster and cheaper.

I think the president has been thinking more about the development of this technology, it has been recognized the president of the republic of Indonesia, that the progress of world technology has entered so fast in Indonesia. from a presidential statement I think it's a smooth way for us bitcoiners in Indonesia to be able to make legal bitcoin in Indonesia in the future

Until now I have not heard in the state of Indonesia a law that prohibits using bitcoin. only now to buy your bitcoin should be charged to start joining bitcoin, this is a new rule for the new ending. This is also done in other countries that want to buy boitcoin.

We should start seeing CC as something beyond government officials, governments all around the world have zero benefit in CC as it brings transparecny and taking control away from few big giants.
Despite ban by so many governments, CC is still progressing which is a positive sign.

The popular cryptocurrency is the latest technology to face a ban in indonesia after central bankers warned that it posed a threat to the stability of the national currency. The central bank wants to ban any tech company e-commerce site or the payment system that accepts bitcoin as a valid payment in Indonesia.

Instead of policing about people need to buy or invest it , authorities have to create a substantial environment for cryptocurrency - Which is emerging as new class of assets.

every new emerging asset has its own challenges, instead of banning it, they probably should try to regulate it.

anyways, Indonesia volume in BTC is negotiable, No reason to worry about this news.

In fact, Indonesia does not prohibit bitcoin, but it is more specifically forbidden bitcoin to be used as a tool of transaction. Because the Indonesian government does not have rules about bitcoin. There are only a few statements from Bank Indonesia that bitcoin can not be used as a transaction tool.
