I don't agree with what Bill Gates is saying. Cryptocurrency is good, but it is quiet risky. Investing in it doesn't guarantee profit, you just have to identify a good coin and invest in it.

I don't think this is a good thing. The Government’s ability to find money laundering and tax evasion and terrorist funding is a good thing. Right now crypto currencies are used for buying fentanyl and other drugs so it is a rare technology that has caused deaths in a fairly direct way. I think the speculative wave around ICOs and crypto currencies is super risky for those who go long.” He isn't wrong in his sense, if the cryptocurrency is to have a future, they should be able to create an environment of trust between themselves and the authorities. According to Bill Gates, he is absolutely correct from his own point of view. But who knows? I mean people have their own views and yes i do respect them. I do like the feature of Bitcoin and it's holder being anonymous. Like it will surely protect your privacy or identity from reveling in front of anyone. Yeah there are some cons also, as it will lead to scamming and scammers revolve all around. Nevertheless what Bitcoin is, i like it that way. It has become a part of my life now. |

In the cryptocurrency market, no one can guarantee profits, since this is a too young market. Moreover, new projects can not guarantee anything |

Maybe they are afraid , that new projects in crypto can become such a fast growing companies, they this old-school gays are not so quick and smart. New companies can become huge corporations and be competitive. Bill try to prevent.

Well, everyone is entitled to express his or her own views about something. I will never say cryptocurrency is bad. It has really brought great benefit to a lot of people. It ensures faster transactions and blockchain technology safer storage of information.

hmmm, in my opinion, this is indeed a common thing when many world leaders say bitcoin is bad or good. this is indeed a controversy but what is clear is that I no longer care about their words. like JP Morgan who once said that but now he makes his own coin

Most this big corporations finally want to have their own crypto coins , like Microsoft-coin, google-coin, or amazon-coin. Maybe they need to have some time for it. The world is changing very fast, and they should be up to date with this. But I see no changes yet. Maybe one day.

Anyone is free to have their opinion about cryptocurrency and its use, that was Bill Gates opinion, it doesn't their are other popular personalty who says cryptocurrency is good and are ready to adopt it.

I agree with you. As long as the cryptocurrency is young they do not pose a threat to it. But if the cryptocurrency grows, they will be able to threaten it. |

Considering the statement of Bill gates saying cryptocurrency is bad, I realized that people are just concerned about the negative aspect of how cryptocurrencies can be used forgetting that these kinda activities and actions of people already existed before Satoshi even thought of building the blockchain technology and Bitcoin. The world needs to focus of the positive aspects of cryptocurrencies and their platforms which are the solutions to gaps seen in the world we find ourselves in.
Very good point there. 2017 really marked a bad year for crypto/blockchain as a whole and it's kinda hard to trust again tbh. |

The world needs to focus of the positive aspects of cryptocurrencies and their platforms which are the solutions to gaps seen in the world we find ourselves in.

IEO is everything ICO should have been back then. Safer, more reliable, better controlled. How crazy the trend has been, ICO, to STO, to IEO. What's next?  In terms of your question with getting the communities trust back, it should be an effort coming from the founding team IMO. One sign that I look at in terms of legitimacy is how active they are in engaging, if they are attending crypto events, etc. I stumbled across a project in where you can invest in great ideas which is Tecra. They even won an award recently at the World blockchain summit at Taipei for the best startup pitch. I think those are the factors you need to look at. I would laugh at Bill gates if the news I read about Microsoft launching their own cryptocurrency become true. (Unless this is one of his strategies?) |

Well if it’s unknown person, to say about crypto, it’s ok, but this famous man like Bill have some influence on the IT community and his opinion is valuable. And I think , that he should be careful in his words, because people listen to him, and if he says something bad about crypto, he has background for it.
