Now a new problem, how to run 8600W of Avalons... thank goodness its winter!

Long, long time ago I used 6000W electric heater to successfully heat 3-room apartment in continental climate. Good luck with cooling all that equipment.

Easy, crack a window Wink
It's not just what to do with all the heat, though, right?  The typical standard for US single family homes is 100 amp service, and less for apartments.  With those machines running 24/7, it should leave around 25 amps for all the rest of the appliances and environmental uses in the house.
Yes that is true but I was only replying to his statement "Good luck with cooling all that equipment". Having the power to run them all is definitely the real problem Tongue

You guys are soo funny.  Sure a single 6KW heater would one big circuit, but these minis can be spread all over.  My house has 200A at 220V service (440A @ 110V) so no worries there.  Temps are 35F night 65F daytime average right now, and I heated last year with 14 GPUs spread over 4 rigs with no issues, but this will be over 2x that load!

8600W includes two 4-module Avalons that are in my laundry room today, and I ran two 20A 110V circuits in there to juice those bad boys.

I will just add a few circuits in the garage and keep the door open 4" or so all winter with some box fans going, and relocate units inside as heaters as it gets colder.

Now to break the news to the wife   Shocked

Yeah for many people this will not be a problem but not everybody has that capacity. The server room I am currently using is now at capacity so I will have to run my new mini's from home where I already have a lot of things running so I have to place them strategically to avoid popping any breakers Tongue. Luckily my AC will be off so won't be a problem until summer...

I guess you don't have a basement?

If you have enough land you could build a under ground place to store your Avalon's and just have fan push all the hot air out! Smiley

I don't think anyone will sell you a mini Avalon for cost, if they did they wouldn't be in the business of making money or bitcoins for that matter. I am saving up for a 4 module Avalon next.

Guys look at the next Diff jump 40%+

I think these are looking more and more shaky on ROI

I was going to get 20 ... I sent an email to the support re cost to ship to australia and heard nothing as per usual for avaalon. Imediately stopped the whole idea as TOO much RISK

As per the site Tradehill does not have the units and they are with yifu mining (in china probably) ...so good luck to see how long it takes to get your units

Avalon have used up any goodwill that is left ... Cry

Well I ordered a B1 and B2 module and they were shipped on Saturday, today they are in the US likely still being processed and going through customs. So that's not too bad for two full business days. Smiley

I just sold a BFL 60Gh Single on BitMit for 10.4BTC Friday, cost me $112 for Fedex to get it to the guy Monday, so I could have the coins in hand and turn that into 4 Avalon Minis.

I would be buying more if I could.

Perhaps YiFu could be convinced to drop the price of the 4 module Avalons to match the Minis that would be a good thing for him to do.

At this point though, I think he is probably pretty disappointed about the price on these?  Who knows.  I am disappointed my B3 is going to LOSE over 30BTC from original cost so flipping his Minis to help make up for that is at least one way to turn a YiFu fail to a YiFu win for me (more or less).

I second that!

No word yet on shipping. I wonder where they are coming from US or China.

Can someone take pictures of the ASIC chips and post them here so that chip dates can be determined?  Also, if someone could do the same for the AVALON-ASICS store that'd be greatly appreciated.

Curious, you feel this info matters how?

He would have enough chips from cancelled group buys alone to build these...
