So... retarget every 1,920 blocks? 4x change every diff adjustment? It'll take a long time to settle, then. I think you misunderstand the definition of "instamine".

Minar.cc Kudos PPLNS Pool
I have setup a VARDIFF+Stratum PPLNS Pool and its working fine, we have already found 3 blocks at the time of writing, so you are welcome to join and spread the network hashrate. Please let me know if you find anything out of normal, comments and suggestions also welcome! I have set pool fees to 1% and only 0.1 KDS payout fee to pay the actual transaction fee. kds.minar.ccStart your miner using the following parameters: URL: | stratum+tcp://kds.minar.cc | PORT: | 3340 | USER: | username.worker | PASS: | workerPass |
Sample command-line: ./cgminer -o stratum+tcp://kds.minar.cc:3340 --scrypt -u username.worker -p workerPass

I think it's too soon for an exchange. The network is not stabilized right now, we need to get to the next retarget now. I will probably need to implement new retarget timing to deal with hashrate fluctuations (we had 100Gh/s+).
There is still a lot more to come for this project, we are just few days in now.

Oh look, another coin that does a fork at the current height, rather than a block 2-3 weeks in the future. Now there's gonna be 2 competing chain because no one had time to upgrade before the fork.
Amateur hour. Please stop wasting hashes on this garbage.

The chain is now at 14655, the client is just confused because it was generated a long time ago, I'm going to push it further after more people update the client (I can see at least 24 connections from seed node). Since there is no mining going on there is no other choice than to do it in a few blocks otherwise it would stay stuck.

There have been dozens of coins that launched with the default bitcoin 400% difficulty swing intact, and each and every one has had their blockchain get stuck in this fashion. So that begs the question, why would you launch a coin with such parameters? Let me guess, you just read the foocoin tutorial and thought launching a coin would be a good idea?

OP updated with links to new clients. Source updated with new checkpoints and leveldb compilation fix. Also the website is back up. What about KUDOS ? What about it? People already mined 4M and the donation fund recieved only 134 KDS for development, giveaways etc., that's just greed! If you want to be part of this project, contact me through PM, I've got a lot of plans and any helping hand would be appreciated.

Hi! Check your account, the pool is working fine Let me know if anything seems odd though.. Is still only share, but no real reward , whether the re-erection mine pool I dont understand what you say... You have to submit shares to the pool until someone finds a block, then all shares are rewarded using PPLNS payout system. If anyone finds a block, all shares are still there but they won't receive any rewards, until a block is found. Give me you username so i can verify you have indeed found shares before a block was found.

Guys, Kudos on Cryptsy, that was stated. So, I have been looking at https://cryptsy.freshdesk.com and to my surprise I could not find any request to put Kudos on the list! Isn’t it time that all of us, or at least some of us, file a request at Cryptsy to add Kudos? Kudos has not been premined and with a limited number of coins should have the potential to become a trustworthy crypto currency. If we all just wait for it to happen, we might as well wait until the cows come home. I filed a request, check it out.

Guys!
I see my message was picked up! In fact we are dealing with the chicken and egg problem. Low hash rate, no Cryptsy, no Crypsty lower mining, lower mining... I am glad there are more that rise to the occasion. By raising the hash rate we show there is a community (rising).
Letting Kudos slip would truly be a waste of energy. So I sent cryptoftw a message. After all he asked for help on December the 18th. Let's see/show what we can do together.
Crank up the hash rate!

Guys...
Can somebody shed some light for I am flabbergasted. I contacted Cryptsy asking them for the criteria in order to put us on the list. This is the reply I received: “Sorry for legal reasons we will not be adding this coin. BitJohn” WTF? I replied with the request to clarify the “legal reason” part. So far no answer. In what differs Kudos from the other coins in order to pose legal issues? The only conclusion I can draw is that Kudos is started by someone working at Cryptsy?
Cryptoftw, what's going on?

Just made a transaction which went without a glitch. I looked into the block chain and my transaction is present and processed. Guess what, your transaction is present as well BUT, it has a TX Time of “1970-01-01 01:00:00” while my transaction has a TX Time of “2014-01-29 23:49:13”. Further more your transaction has no Block Hash. How or what to do is beyond my knowledge. Cryptoftw! Can you help us please?

FYI
I am in contact with, and contacting, other traders in order to get us on one or more trading lists. NO PROMISE, just trying to do my best to contribute to the community (See previous message about Cryptsy).
I'll keep you posted. And, keep cranking up the hash rate!

Didn't know there was Kudos coin.
I wanted to make one. Then I came across this one.........................
This one seems pretty dead to me.
What solutions are there?
How could I overtake this project, or even start new KudosCoin ( If possible without people crying?)
I can guarantee success.

I'm not sure what is going on but I am trying to mine on the minar.cc pool but not finding any blocks. I represent a very large chunk of the network hashrate and haven't found anything after about 30 minutes. There were blocks found by the pool just 3 days ago but something isn't right as of right now. I mined some Kudos when it was first launched and was hoping to pick up some more, but I'm about to give up and move on to a coin that is actually functioning.

If you have that much hashrate, which we welcome, what stops you from solo mining? At this moment still doable.

This coins has an official block explorer working atm http://kudoscrypto.org/So it is a good idea to check against that to know we are all on the same chain. The hashrate atm is ~1.5MH/s, none of them from the pool kds.minar.ccSo if you want some easy KDS join now and probably you will get them all. Anyway, the pool is on the same chain as the explorer so everything should be fine. BTW: is this related: http://www.kudoscoins.com/ ? EDIT: Check your account now, i have refreshed some statistics, some blocks were found but not accounted for. As no one was mining no alarm was sent..

Excellent, sounds interesting, I will definitely keep an eye on it as I like this coin's fundamentals but it could do with some work and services to make it more popular.
Diamond in the rough hopefully!!
I'll be happy to help spread the word as and when...

Maybe a silly question... At 22:40 Paris time the pool http://kds.minar.cc/ states Pool Hashrate 3.60 MH/s (6) and Net Hashrate 2.86 MH/s (5). How can the pool hash rate be higher than the network hash rate? (btw http://kudoscrypto.org/ stated 3,344 kH/s) In my perception the pool should be part of the network. What am I missing?

Hi That is weird, maybe there was a caching issue i'll check it, as no one was mining these days i was not monitoring the site often, if it gets steady miners ill keep more than an eye on it EDIT: Always add this line to your config file: so you make sure you are synced against the pool, on low hash networks, forks are common, if some guy comes with 50mh it is prob that he takes the chain his way...

Minar.cc pools are not running anymore, the domain was registered by someone else and I don't have any relationship with the new owner.

In that case I will jump aboard.
EDIT: Got the information from the website, so no nodes needed, right? Wasn't mining yet.
EDIT2: Now I am mining through your pool, not with much (yet), but better than nothing.

The network hashrate is calculated via the difficulty. Pool hashrates are actual speeds. So it's updated as the difficulty changes, and I think they change in maximum intervals. I might be wrong.. Also, with the little mining I've done with minar.cc, I've had good results.

Super! But, I have been examining the vote list and came to the conclusion that voting for Kudos is not going to cut it. We need at least about 1 to 1.5 bitcoin. (Top of the list (today) donated over 1 bitcoin. A small calculation reveals it has about 113 actual votes.) Also, given the fact that mrbubl3s and his friend are working on a new wallet I want to suggest the following. To prevent disaster let us wait a little bit longer and first test/try the new wallet before we put Kudos on any exchange whatsoever. I have witnessed drama with other coins that went to an exchange and launching a new wallet at the same time. The exchange site had a lot of trouble with the wallet and so it was exiled. Let alone the bad name that came with it. Opinions? Suggestions? Other ideas? When the time is there you can put me up for 0.1 bitcoin (it's all I have from mining another coin).

I agree you only get one real shot at a re-launch. It's worth taking a little extra time to test things and get it right.
Plus for any re-launch the crypto-community would expect the mandatory things any decent coins come with, like a re-vamped website, forums, faucets, games? Sorry Dev's if you are already all over it.
In the future you could even do something like sponsoring a charity/foundation (a large credible one preferably) with Kudos donations, and you could change it every quarter or something - just an idea.
I'm happy to throw in some BTC for extra votes when the time is right!

Things are going slowly but surely. I've been helping develop some bawesome services over the last few weeks, busy with irl job though.. As always there are unexpected problems. P:

Definitely not dead! But low enough for solo mining still. Whenever I check on this coin (via http://kudoscrypto.org/) hash rate is always there, I've verified this first hand on the wallet along with multiple connections showing on the qt. mrbubl3s and some other devs are working on bringing this crypto up to scratch, so it may not happen over night but all good things come to those who wait...

Please read the previous messages. We are patiently waiting for mrbubl3s and some other devs to finish a new version of the wallet, then we test, then we relaunch.

Mrbubl3s,
It's quiet a while now since your last response. So, how are things going? Not to well I guess: The site is down (at least not responding) for a few weeks now, no reactions, and the mining site struggles (does not payout). There were some others who asked whether they could step in. We hold them back because of your promises. No hard feelings, but if you are not able to realize the things you promised, please say so! Maybe someone else is willing to help out. (Let's be honest, otherwise it's been a waste of power consumption and computer use.) I propose you place a reaction before May 12th. If not we take it as an “Sorry, can't deliver” answer, OK?
Regards.

There was. As far as we know he left... Than came Mrbubl3s. We all became excited. Started to push the hashrate back up. And for now a deafening silence. Don't misunderstand me. I still believe Mrbubl3s has (had) good intentions. What's frustrating for me is that he doesn't speak up! I hope he will respond before May 12th. Otherwise... you know someone?

As far as I can tell a lot of people have mined Kudos. A lot of effort, hardware and energy were invested. The original developer and those that came afterward do not respond. It seems like Kudos is dead in the water. What a waste. I thought long and hard. Being a developer for quiet some years now I think I should be able to provide some basic maintenance, developer support, and learn along the way. Maybe I am to lightheartedly about it, maybe not. Bottom line is that I am willing to spend my spare time in order to get Kudos back on track. So I have a proposal. (Keep in mind that I am an employee and also have to spend time with my wife and children.) Give me two months to realize an update of the Kudos client. In return I want to ask all of you to start mining Kudos again. You can reply and say “I'm in!” but the only true reply is seeing the hash rate going up (and up and up and up). When I see the hash rate going up I will start working (read mostly learning). I will update you all at least once a week about the progress I am making. Even when there is nothing to report, I will say so. When do I start? Well, it has to be a joined effort. The day the hash rate hits (and of course stays) 20Mh/s or more is the day I will file my first report. That day plus two months is the day I have to deliver. IMHU it works both ways. When you all contribute to the hash rate you know in return someone is working and when I do not file my reports you can simply stop your hash rate contribution. When I see the hash rate go up I know there is a community that is willing to support me and when the hash rate will not go up or goes down again I know I either blew it or I was flogging a dead horse.
So, it's up to all of you now when I have to file my first report!
