If you want cheap and more affordable price, of course, better buy when ICO or pre-ICO, usually there is a discount. However, if you are unsure of the project's continuity, whether it is a scam or not, then you can buy it when listing in the market, then wait for further developments, such as listing on a large potential exchange.

I think if you are not aiming for the bonuses and you don't have enough money to buy tokens from sale then just wait for them to enter the market. Because bounty hunters will dump the token quickly once they get their reward. Another thing is if you believed in the project then buy it at their ico then after that if you want to accumulate more at low price then wait for them to enter exchange.

It depends on the kind of ico project not all coins are the same and they said that if the value is low the more chance it is to have great profit and so it is not wrong to buy ico

I noticed that many investors were afraid to buy during ICO because their reason they are cheaper can be bought on market. Especially when they found out  that a large percentage is allotted in the bounty program. Many Bounty Hunters  immediately selling token/coin even lower than the ICO price.

#Datarius

This is also a strategy in investment that works, when a large quantity of token is distributed during bounty among a large number of people but for fewer bounty participants, it might not be different from other investors. Some investors also causes the dump with high bonuses from ICO, imagine a 70% bonus, that's too much. 5-10% is enough and safe for any project.

It depends on the ICO that you were joining. Check the whitepaper and roadmap first before trusting to the ICO. Also check the team running the ICO. Keep in mind that joining an ICO might require you to hold your coins for long time. ICO coins won't appreciate until all the bounty tokens got dumped by bounty participants. You will only earn after months of holding but it will be worth it considering the amount of coins that you have and the bonuses offered during the ICO. Its still better to invest on ICO as long as you know what you were doing.

According to my own experience it's more profitable to buy during ICO or even presale, if there're some bonuses. Of course, there's always a risk that the price can be dumped below ICO price. But it won't happen when the market is rising and a project has a lot of hype.

you always need to analyse the project, and according to token distribution politics and other points you should decide if it is worth to invest and when

From mine experience, in a bullish market it is good to buy at ico because when it gets listed, the price increases above the ico price but in a bearish run, I usually prefer to get it after it gets listed because most of the time, it trades below ico price.

Well, if you have confidence that the ico you choose will culminate in a higher price than when pre-selling you have to buy when they pre-sell. But many people buy pre-sell and they lose. But it might be better to buy when they first enter the market to avoid losses that are not in want. We do not know what will happen to them when they enter the market, whether they will be a good coin or become a shitcoin. So, there is no harm in waiting until they are registered in the market.

Today, there are no strict rules for the regulation of ICO activities in the cryptocurrency market. Because of this, a lot of bad projects that create scammers in order to enrich themselves. Such projects do not luve up to the placement of their tokens on the exchange. Therefore, investors now do not risk investing at the initial stage of the ICO.

The bearish or bullish market doesn't necessary be the factor of whether a coin will go up or down, it's the devs and the project's progress that matter most but however I can agree with you, it's better to buy in the market when the whole market is negative, I mean, it's better to avoid the risk of having affected by the bearish market and making the coin we invested to struggling.

Hi!
For me the main reason to invest in any project or a coin - the idea of the project.
Not important, how many coins they promise bounty hanters; not important, what price will be after ico. You can look at an example of ONT) All in our hands!

The statistic says that it a better way to buy coins on etherdelta or other exchanges just after ICO, because many people sell it for lower prices.

It depends upon the way you look at the market and ICO. If you like experiencing risk, I think you need to buy ICO as expectation to get more profit, but if you don't like risks and no need to take too big reward, it is not suitable for you. Another important reason when decide to buy ICOs is that you can't really know what will happen after it hits the exchange, thus, be careful when making decision which coins to invest.

It depends. There are many advantages to buy during ICO because the price is low and it can grow a lot in the next weeks after the ICO OR it could go down

Yes, most of the time I choose to buy directly from the exchange.
Because if the market is not good, then the price that buys directly on the exchange will be more cheap.
