Is product important for a project?

It's evident that the product is the most significant thing for the project, otherwise for what all these people have gathered? Just collect money and go to the islands?
I have as an example the Bitclave project. They have launched already two good products - Matchico and Desearch, one more product Base is going to be launched.

In my opinion they will be have a good credit for a project, because it proves that they are not playing some games and intend in real business. When they do not have any product then I believe no investors would come.

A tangible and ready to use product is important for an ICO project because this shows investors that the company behind the product could really bring the project/product in the real world to be able to solve real world problems. The products of the company really shows how it can really develop in the future. Also by having a good and ready to use product can attract more and more investors in the long run.

I think that the product is important for the company.  If the company does not have a product, then I do not advise you to invest in it.
