difficult, the government can't block blockchain technology. the government can only close the sale and purchase sites only. and if it happens but there are still countries that open bitcoin trading sites, we can still trading bitcoin.
Obviously it would depend on how bitcoin runs through out the country. Mean while bitcoin is just a digital currency but there are lot of investors would gather to make some effort on giving their time and exchange there savings to have more reliable alt and in return such profit.
And government stop this if this would used in an maliscious drags etc.

bitcoin is the international currency. The advantage is decentralization, the government will only have a positive impact on bitcoin. Indirectly, these governments agree that bitcoin is a good technology or at least the idea of digital currency is appropriate for this century, I think yes, maybe bitcoin can be killed or stopped by the government especially when they are united. Bitcoin and its technology are innovative financial systems that are more efficient than the banking systems we have today, just by coincidence that banks are controlled by the government. What the government can do is put the external forces into bitcoins where its people will not be able to use bitcoin into the next century ...

Yes, the government have a ward to preclude bitcoin in their state. I realize that bitcoin is configuration to work without a central bank and furthermore that is the principle point of bitcoin cryptocurrency that administration can't control so it will wind up cruel to some administration parts to preclude bitcoin.

The latest news is that the US government is look closely at Bitcoin. A number of governments such as Russia and China are also planning to issue their own digital currencies. They clearly see a financial threat from Bitcoin.

What do you think? Can governments kill Bitcoin and replace it with their own digital/crypto currency?

If the government wants to remove Bitcoin then it will be able to remove it because the government has all the powers. Maybe Bitcoin can not finish alone. This will require the assistance of all the countries. Bitcoin has been used for many years. But the number of users of Bitcoin has been growing so much that the government has become entrenched and trying to ban Bitcoin. But unfortunately, no governments are trying to understand the advantages of Bitcoin.

Government authority can kill bitcoin in their respective countries, by policy and programs that will kill bitcoin direct and indirectly, but as I always said it bitcoin can't die, is a decentralized crytocurrency which no government has control of its.

Honestly, even if govts ban Bitcoin, people will still find a way to make use of it. They may be able to lessen its users, but not totally kill it.

No The elimination of Bitcoin will not be possible for the government alone. The King of Bitcoin Online. Before finishing Bitcoin, the crypto must be completed before it, which is not the work of any government. Maybe the government can cancel Bitcoin in their country. The government will succeed in this. But killing Bitcoin will not be so easy. Bitcoin is managed by the internet. As long as there is internet, there will be Bitcoin.

The problem is can they beating the popularity of Bitcoin with state-owned Digital Currency? Bitcoin it's for worldwide but maybe their own digital currency will only be used in their own country. Maybe they make their digital money just for replace their payment system becomes easier.
In addition to this, nobody can really anything or remove any kind of stuff from internet. Bitcoin is a digital currency. Even if the government of whole world decide to go against it, they would fail in eliminating it. It is decentralized in nature due to which it comes under no one’s control. Besides, not all the countries are idiot. Japan is fully supporting bitcoin and it truly admires this currency.

Don't be too sad about the governments.
Remember that Gold was forbidden to be owned by person in USA, while gold will never be killed.

Yes government can kill bitcoin in the way how they want to do it for example if there no more people who are appreciating bitcoin they can kill it easily

How can they kill Bitcoin "easily", why haven't they done it already if this was indeed the case? Bitcoin is decentralized and has a format to prevent any manipulation from a central figure. Only certain aspects of mining is somewhat centralized.  Trust me if it was so easy to 'kill' Bitcoin then it would of likely been done already. I mean it's had several attempts on it, but as of today all have failed.

Yes its true, if the Government can easily kill bitcoin i think they kill it before the bitcoin is not popular. Bitcoin cant easily kill because if its easy then it already replace by another crypto currencies, because there are lot of people wants to copy the format of bitcoin but they cant do it.

No of course governments cannot kill Bitcoin, they can only produce legislation to restrict its usage within the borders of their own country. Let's also remember that governments change every few years in most countries so even if a country has a negative stances now that can completely turn around after the next election.

Government can obviously ban the cryptocurrency exchanges since they have the power to do so, but in no way they can "kill" the bitcoin.
The main reason that government quotes for banning crytos is that it makes easy for people do do money laundering since the funds of a country can be easily sent abroad. But, that is not really the case. The majority of the people that deal on local exchanges are the ones who complete their KYC and do small term trading. By banning such exchanges, the government is only encouraging people to find an alternative way of trading by registering themselves on foreign exchanges.
As a result of this, a lot of people would like to open foreign bank accounts and move their funds over there. This way, money laundering would be done even by those who initially didn't intend to do it.
So Bitcoins being banned by government is not really a positive move and will have its own consequences in future.

no government can kill bitcoin. the blockchain technology was not designed to be  manipulated by the government agencies or by the global financial laws as it is a stand alone technology. one of its motives is to decentralize the financial way in which the government regulated financial policies. thanks

I agree with you, because when I see the current Governments in some countries have issued regulations that limit values thus making the bitcoin continued depressed, but guys don't have to doubt all will definitely be running smoothly back along with public confidence towards the bitcoin

countries like Russia and US making their own digital currency to fight with Bitcoin, but it is not in line with the purpose of the blockchain, and i think Bitcoin will not be killed.

No, governments cannot kill a bitcoin but they can kill you. They can do it in several different ways. Of course, it speaks only about our physicality because no one is pouring into the soul to bend it.

Either way. The Chinese proverb is true - may you live in interesting times. A horse with a row of people who will predict what will happen in 2 years!

The government's ban on bitcoin will end in failure!

Because bitcoin is a new form of payment, it makes it easier to get and sell goods through BTC. BTC makes trading more convenient and faster!

They would have to kill the internet if they want to kill bitcoin but we all know that is not possible. The best thing the governments can do is to put regulations in place for the trading of coins to control the market.
