Does it work right? It does. What do you need the news for? For forks? Or for trouble? It's so good coin that lasts over a year without dev intervention! This is rare! No, i think there's a problem with the POS and when there's no Dev intervention is not a good thing, it's only lack of interest. there's always something to fix or to improve (or to copy/paste from BTC Main client). Compare it with Satoshi Nakamoto's forum activity, please. Don't say bullshit please. Satoshi Nakamoto and DEM in the same topic are the words that doesn't fit. Yes, but you say "cryptsy". It's not bittrex who add coins as quick as possible and delist even faster And it's not the shitexchange that disapears in 3 months. The price goes up. This is the concrete information Bittrex is as good as cryptsy, and volumes are higher. 99% Of alt.coins is shit, so if you have an Alt. Exchange, you trade shit. Price with a volume of less than 3 BTC doesn't mean nothing. With current DEM Book Orders do you know that if i sell 3.5 BTC Values in Dem, i destroy values to 200 Satoshi? And if i buy 5 BTC DEM, price will be 3500 SAT Do you have any idea on how an Alt Exchange Market works? And how much volumes are important? Probably yes it is! Show me a person or a dev without disadvantages/errors! When there's a problem a Dev must fix a soon as possible. If not, you're not a Dev. Probably DEM Dev, dump coins when price was near 70K Have you seen new coins last months? I'm out of alt-currency, i have other ways to make profit, more than trade. DEM is an old coin, this is why i'm able to speak about. Peace

Alicea said it all. This coin is running around for a year now and hasn't been serviced in this period. And still everything is well! A new face is maybe more attractive but doesn't add any functionality. And POS stinks. Real life test: put a 10 euro note on the table, wait a year and check if after this year there is an extra 30 cents beside the note. Money needs to work, just like people.
Over the past months I learned a lot about coins, mining and markets. If you take a "dead" coin with a relatively small community and you bring down the exchange rate you will see miners (especially auto-switching multi pools) leaving and the difficulty dropping. In return the reward for your mining activities will rise. In the time you can buy other miners' (especially the auto-selling) eMarks at junk prices. From that viewpoint it was a very interesting summer. Now prices are (being brought) up, another and more rewarding time has arrived. This growth / phase will attract new attention and new capital. And early adopters will have an opportunity to cash in and get rewarded for all their investments and efforts.
And with a market cap of still only 60k USD it is very easy to own (and control) a serious part of the eMark market with only limited amount of Bitcoins.

I've been trying to mine this coin on CoinKing and have accumulated some 4,700,000 valid shares and yet not one block has been found! Is this something to do with the state of the DEM network, or something else? Thoughts?
PS. The pool total is 10,074,267 valid shares, and as I said, no block found.
I don't trust COINKING had several problems try mining on ispace.co.uk

Darn! I thought there was no reply and I learned the problem is indeed associated with CK, so I just deleted the post. Sorry about that and thanks for the response!
Yes, I'm trying them now and so far, it seems to go smoothly. I'm trying to work with CK to solve a few issues using their support ticket system, but I get the impression they are very laid back regarding verifying their work before putting it online. The users shouldn't be the testers. I'm going to have to take a crash course in coin exchanges in order to truly use iSpace. Never done any trading.

Hi
I am new to mining and just trying with DEM .
I made an account to coin-base.info and added a new worker .
when i run minerd i get these :

It looks like you are trying to mine using “scrypt” on a “sha256” based coin. Even if configured properly you won't be getting much DEM at that hash rate. Are you mining on the CPU? You could try a CPU based coin or purchase DEM and run PoS.

Hi Cleric,
Please don't use your cpu miner (minerd) for mining. Those days are over. If you want to try mining yourself please consider purchasing a couple of Bitmain U1 Antminers. They can be plugged straight into your USB port, hash at least at around 1.6 Giga Hash per second per device at 2.5W power usage. Your cpu miner now hashes around 5 kilo hash in sCrypt (!! That should be in SHA256 and that would then be approximately 5 mega hash , DEM uses this SHA256-algorithm) at approximately 80W (@ 100% cpu utilisation). So one Antminer U1 hashes around 1000 as fast as your computer and uses only 4% of the power. Antminer U1 can be bought second hand for about 10 - 15 euro. You can (and should) use multiple.
Please note that MINERD can not be trusted and is often infected with viruses or malware. Be advised to check your system's integrity.
The correct systax should be: -a sha256d
Good luck! ______________________________
Usage: minerd [OPTIONS] Options: -a, --algo=ALGO specify the algorithm to use scrypt scrypt(1024, 1, 1) (default) sha256d SHA-256d

Magi XMG is a great coin for CPU at the moment and gives around 5 percent PoS. If you sign up for the PoM campaign you can earn extra coins even with a low hash rate. Also U1 or U2 Antminers do work better for DEM and you can set things up to go after both coins on the same machine if you like. Good luck!

WTF Indeed. With no discussion of what is going on, who is behind this announcement, and no proper information in supposed links given, this does not inspire confidence. Care to elaborate why you think a hard fork is needed bitkornmeister ?

Ok, so just to clarify: It will still be a SHA256 coin, with 2 minute block target, and 50 coin per block reward. I understand that the emission will be reduced from 20,000,000,000 (20 GigaCoins) to 210,000,000 (210 MegaCoins) ... ¡ I like that ! and staked coins will produce interest every month, not once a year ... ¡ I like that ! Question, just to be clear: ¿ Will all existing coins be honored in the new fork ? ie, ¿ Will the new fork keep the existing blockchain ? and more questions: ¿ When exactly will the change happen ? ¿Will it be at exactly 12:00:00 GMT on November 12, 2014, or is it after a certain block number ?
