Dear Sharpay Supporters!

Sharpay development update: added hover color option for direct share buttons, added an extra reward caption in the sharing window and widgets, added “Reward” caption in the direct share button animation, enhanced affiliate program security, etc.

We just released our Referral Program and Affiliate Program recently, and we did a lot of tasks to improve the design of our share buttons in order to attract more users and webmasters, we also fixed some bugs and refined our system. Let’s see some of our finished tasks:

1) Added hover color option for direct share buttons. For direct share buttons, webmasters are now able to change the hover color for icons, they can choose “Official” which is the official color of the chosen social networks, “Lighter” or “Darker” color. Users can see the changes when their mouse moves over the button icons.

2) Added an extra reward caption in the sharing window and widgets. For new users who can get an extra reward from referral program, we added the caption in the sharing window and widgets to get their attention and attract them to make their first share.

3) Added “Reward” caption in the direct share button animation. To add the “Reward” caption in the animation, we had to switch from CSS animation of slides to control animation through JavaScript. Because flipping CSS based slides at the beginning of each cycle does a rollback to starting values (from 360 to 0 degree), also with animation (showing all three slides in reverse in a split second). We were able to make the animation always in front. We just calculated the next angle of rotation by adding the value to the current position (0, 120, 240, 360, 480, 600 etc.). The maximum rotation size is 20-digit value, which will allow the widget to work without stopping for more than 327 million years.

4) Enhanced affiliate program security to prevent cheating. In our affiliate program development, we tested different methods to cheat in the affiliate program. Based on the testing results, we increased the security and improved the affiliate program system to prevent cheating. Users will not be able to their own affiliate links and websites to cheat in the affiliate program.

5) Added logging to account merging when transferring users with referrals. When we developed our referral program, we added logging to account merging function. It will record all users with referrals when merging accounts. It helps us to find unexpected bugs during the account merging with referrals.

6) Improved domain value memorization in case of registration form error. We have improved and added the domain field in the registration form for new webmasters. The form will keep the values entered by new users in case there is an error in the registration process.

7) Added user binding to partner during user registration through Sharpay API. In the affiliate program, when a new user registers an account through Oauth API, we bind the partner’s ID to the new user.

Fixed an error in deleting user accounts. During our system testing for new features, we found an error in deleting user accounts. There was a problem with parent and foreign keys, we updated our queries and fixed it.

9) Updated the UI and design in Oauth controller. We have updated the Oauth controller to the latest UI and design to give our users the best user experience.

Dialogue with one of our community members about the cryptocurrency market crisis in 2018–2019 and Sharpay.io plans for migration to a new blockchain.

For more than 2 and a half years after the launch of Sharpay.io, we have been successfully developing our product despite the deep crisis of all cryptocurrencies, the collapse of all speculative expectations along with the prices of all coins and tokens. But we have a development plan. We have a roadmap. And one way or another, we are acting on this plan.

Nevertheless, the global cryptocurrency crisis is making adjustments to our plan. And we are forced to postpone some of our ideas in terms of time. So, in our roadmap there is a task on the migration of our project to a new blockchain in 2019. And one of our community members asked our team about this in a personal chat. Ok, thank you, in the near future we will publish news about this. In a nutshell, we will write about the following.

As you can see, the crypto market situation is still very bad and it is again looking for a new bottom. Many projects have long died. We have been surviving for more than 2 years. We will not risk now launching a new blockchain, because this will significantly increase our costs for the launch, maintenance and new listings. However, we only have a very limited budget. Also, we will have to delist our S token (ERC-20) from 2 exchanges on which we are currently trading. This will cause a panic of our token holders. Actions in a bad market, with a minimal budget, with a panic of users can lead us to collapse. Therefore, we are forced to save and not take risks. We will postpone the launch date of our new blockchain and swap of tokens.

Also, now nobody needs a blockchain for the sake of blockchain. We wrote a roadmap 2 and a half years ago, when the idea of launching a new blockchain was cool and that’s why coins flew to the moon. After 2 years, the situation has changed significantly. Now the economics and monetization of the project are important with large strategic partnerships, a large number of installations and users.

We are now focused only on survival and on the monetization of our project. And first of all, in the next few days we will announce a big release (a lot of features, including buttons for Telegrams) and the transfer of our project to a monetization model of development.

Hello Sharpayers!

2019 is coming to an end, we want to summarize the main results of our project. What we have done and developed, and what we are planning to do in 2020.

🔸 First of all, we put only sharing with blockchain rewards as our main project's feature, and kept improving and developing unparalleled new features for our project. We released our smart direct share buttons for webmasters to share content on all main social networks in the world.

🔸 We also introduced you our latest user interface and stylish upgraded sharing window designed with the 2019' UI / UX trends. With the new UI/UX framework, we made the new animated direct share buttons for sites with mobile responsive design and added modal sharing window as well!

🔸 Communication is the key for all of us, and that is why we spent a lot of time to review and improve our system tooltips, there were 29 pages of our improvements and corrections. We implemented a unique case, making all the tooltips in the first person.

🔸 We managed to increase the accuracy of reaching potential customers by adding different elements and settings for user and webmasters. For our system wallet, we added different new functions, and you are able to buy, deposit, withdraw S tokens.

🔸 Finally, we launched a referral program, affiliate program and bounty tasks for users and webmasters.

🔸 At the end of this year, we finally began to push our model onto monetization rails, but we will talk about this in more detail next year.

🔸 We saved our S token in listing 2 good exchanges from the CMC list, they are IDEX and SIMEX. IDEX is in the Top 50 Cryptocurrency Exchanges by Liquidity on CMC, this is very cool! We are confident in these exchanges, because they are regulated by US laws, and you can easily buy S token on both exchanges at any time!

🔸 Unfortunately, this year we lost our third exchange (OEX), on which our S token was also listed on. The OEX exchange disappeared without a trace along with our massive deposits (more than 10 BTC in different currencies at the exchange rate). We apologize for this risk. Because of the OEX incident, we are no longer in a hurry to list our S token on new exchanges. However, we have confidence that our S token will appear on one very large exchange in 2020!

All that we managed to do was done in the conditions of the ongoing harsh crypto winter, because of which a lot of projects died. In these difficult conditions, under the fire of criticism, we managed to survive, save our project, our team and hope, most importantly - we retained your trust and faith in us.

Dear Community!

Sharpay development update: fixed a bug in calculating the withdrawal amount in the wallet function, corrected the balance check when confirming withdrawal requests, fixed the sending “hit” request problem caused by browser blockage etc.

Constantly, we review and test our Sharpay buttons to make sure we give you the best sharing experience and social media marketing tool. During our last testing, we have improved our system and fixed some bugs. Let’s some of the completed tasks:

1) Fixed a bug in calculating the withdrawal amount in the wallet function. We refined withdrawal conditions and fixed a bug in the calculation, the withdrawal amount must be greater than the withdrawal fee and also it must be greater than zero after the withdrawal fee. Otherwise, the withdrawal request will be invalid and users will not be able to withdraw their tokens.

2) Corrected the balance check when confirming withdrawal requests. We reviewed our withdrawal request check in our admin system, and corrected the check. When confirming the withdrawal requests, our system will check the sufficiency of the balance of the wallet and the transaction fee.

3) Fixed the sending “hit” request problem caused by browser blockage. Some browsers may block Google analytics and because of that it will cause some problems sending our “hit” request. We included different conditions in our code and even if the Google analytics is blocked, the “hit” request will be sent to our server without any problems.

4) Removed user_friends permission request when logging in via FB. During our testing, we discovered that there was a login problem with FB, we checked and removed user_friends permission request when logging via FB, as it has deprecated in recent updates.

5) Fixed notification of sending messages to a specific user. We fixed the internal admin notification of sending messages to a specific user, our admin will be able to see the messages and the corresponding message receivers.

6) Changed the order of widgets in the button installation. We changed the order of different widgets (direct, floating, static, custom) in the installation tab of project setting. The default button type will be “direct” and it can lead webmasters to try our new features.

Besides, we are currently focus on developing our monetization programs, we hope to release them and give you guys the biggest surprise. Stay tuned to our weekly updates!
