Why Etherium is stagnant?

I wonder why Etherium has been stagnant over the past few weeks without any significant rise in price. It became stable which is good. However, it dropped two fold since its maximum achieved in the end of January 2018 when the Bitcoin and majority of altcoins were slumping. I have seen many posts ans articles about the Etherium overpassing Bitcoin this year, but it seems not much to be the case as of now...

I believe Ethereum are becoming more popular due to their efforts to capitalize on the more useful capabilities of blockchain networks. However there are times that it is slow moving. This is common scenarios in the crypto world. Not all tokens are active. There are times that they still recovering from their fall down.

The recent increase in Ethererum rates is due to the current market downturn, leading to ETH, BTC and all of the cryptos in the market is affected. But I still hope ETH exchange rate will increase sharply and surpass the market cap of BTC to become the most popular crypto in the world.

personally, I think if I do not know the main reason but I think it is because of bubbles in the cryptocurrency market and the panic salespeople who have invested in Ethereum. But I hope in the next few days, Ethereum's value will increase, and We need very good news for ETH so it can grow despite the general downtrend.

I don't really think that a "good news" could do that much but instead it's always "regulation" that makes cryptocurrency pumped even in the bearish market but however really expecting that to come down and will see what will happen.
However talking about the truth, the crypto bubble has popped out, now all left is the normal market with a little bit spice of manipulation.

i think stagnan is good it is better than get pumped and dumped in a short time, that will decrease that value of the coin itself. and ETH is a good coin to keep it stable, with that ETH still have its value and people still use it

the way bitcoin market spiked  we have seen in 2017 so market prices went all times high now the market is consolidating the prices so once the market correction is over then we can see prices come back to previous all time high

It amazes me also that etherium is so strong and perspective, and yet we are seeing it only fall in the price. While in July all the market being recovered a little bit, Bitcoin and Ether are still sliding down... Something strange is going on here.

There is an opinion that the project EoS collected a huge amount in the Ethereum and within six months it sells it and dumping the price. And also the bear market greatly affects the price of the Ethereum.

it is like that ethereum is exploding when compared to bitcoin, but we can not if we have to see another coin that exceeds the bitcoin we know by ourselves now bitcoin is the mother of all coins so rich if ethereum exceeds the bitcoin price I think not yet , but maybe it could be if the bitcoin underneath even though the price is good.

for now ETH has decreased very significantly, I don't know what happened? I experience the loss on a drop eth, I hope this doesn't last long

every current coin will fight for the best position and become a coin that is very capable to be relied upon. in addition to being the main coin will make the coin value and has a lot of followers. so very lucky to have a coin like that. so Ethereum also includes coins that thrive for the position of the main coin.
