I don't think crypto will ever end. Governments can do whatever they want to stop it, but they will only slow it. Soon or later regulations will take place and I think that this will be best for everyone.

It is too late for crypto to end, as it has come to stay and be part of our world, Base on the amount of fund in the space and the caliber  of whales in the real world involve in crypto, it is a platform built on a well structured system, Cryptocurrency will keep evolving until it become a accepted by all globally.

It seems to me that soft regulation is necessary for cryptocurrency. Too much was the scum. Now the new rules of the game are being set and I think by the end of 2018 we will have a strong market recovery.

I do not think the Crypto market will end. although the market is falling sharply. Many factors affect Crypto. I think you should be more optimistic. Crypto has been volatile, but because of the volatility they have attracted many investors. The more volatile the market, the more risky, the more risky the opportunity to earn higher profits.
