I think even though so many ICOs doing scams, that would have an impact on investing in bitcoin, logically indeed it would be contagious and make somebody to thought more negative on crypto coins. But, I think that's different from the more superior and very popular of bitcoin, it's not worth it if investing in bitcoin is the most feared related about scams.
It's good if we stay cautious to ICOs and keep the good name of crypto currency especially bitcoin.

ICO is the riskiest investment in the cryptocurrency world, and you must know this before you invest.

But often novices can't tell what is a scam and what is a good investment.

I think it is necessary for the government to take some control, which will better promote the development of the encryption industry.

no it isnt. ico's arent the most risky investment at all but gambling is and definetly will be. you know that you can always avoided to get scam as long as you take time to research about what your trying to invest with , but in the case of gambling. you cant just research them because it is a game that meant to be played and risk of being a looser is verry high and more likely to happen. so overall , it is better to choose and decide wisely about what you invest in order to avoid further problems.

ICOs are the most risky investment in the cryptocurrencies world and everybody who chooses to invest in ICO tokens should be doing it with high amount of caution.
When investing in an ICO, you need to make sure that the organizers are well known and have the knowledge to finish the project as planned, because ICO projects tend to fail and most of them won't even complete what they promised.
On the 2nd hand, you need to make sure that the market cap is not too  big, because then you won't have enough space to make the profit and it won't worth the risk.

That's why you need to smart, choose wisely and don't easily invest on an ICO that you don't know about the team because for me the team behind the project is one of the biggest reason why you should invest or not. Actually i can't believe Denaro turns into scam, they raised $8.5m but they run away the money. Lesson learned guys.

Of course, sometimes its really good to do your homework to research and not just listen to a lot of hype about a certain ICO which will later turns out to be a scam. But that's the hardest part though, finding a legit and trusted ICO to invest.

ICO scams doesn't care how much money they can ran off, from several thousands to a millions will be a good start for those criminals. And the bad effect is that those legit and trusted are taking the fall, investors doesn't want to shell out any more money and the good projects can't take off because they lack funding. Just sad.

Read this several minutes ago. We must be vigilant on what we are investing and must do some research or study first if the project that we wanted to join is legit or not. So sad that there are some ICOs who are just making money for their own sake. Because of this issues, people becomes scared of cryptocurrencies and thinks that other cryptos that are legit are scams too.

http://www.livebitcoinnews.com/denaro-ico-raises-8-7m-and-goes-up-in-smoke/
before being able to invest in an ICO that offers a variety of benefits if we can invest in it, the first step we need to consider by examining in detail the prospects for the future of the project and see the history of the development team by knowing more deeply the team on the project, the people involved in it once run an ICO that has been successful before. because not a few ICOs only collect money that has been invested by people only for their own benefit and can not take full responsibility.

Investing in ICO has risks, and investors should adjust themselves to it.
It is because research & study is not enough to judge an ICO, moreover "future scammer" is not written in founder's forehead.
If you invest in 10 ICOs by dividing your overall capital then 2 out of 10 can be a scam, and every investor should prepare themselves in advance for this loss.

Recently a good rated ICO was a scam, they just vanished all of a sudden. Investors/Experts rated the ICO of course by research & study but still they ran away.

We need regulations on ICO devs/founders/team Roll Eyes but no regulation on investors Tongue

There are plenty of ways there to find the scam or legit ICO project. If it is private ICO token sale you must not believe them with the trusted member from the forum not involved in it. You will find the project white paper on their annoucement thread for sure. If you read that understand what and why the project has proposed you can understand the legibility of the project by that.
Next you can check their LinkedIn profile. That made understand this fake account or a legit which is being used for long time.

It has been discussed many times, that investing in new ico's project are such as hyip investment, even though it has good whitepaper and team background, it will not makes 100% become legit one. Still, projecting on ico's are such a speculation which paying for some stakes for paper plan startup and market will take how it's value after it available to be trading.

that's why most of the users here are suggesting to study and make a deep research on the team's background as well as understanding the platform they will offer to their users and investors, a lot of people will surely ride the bandwagon hype of cryptocurrency created that's why some people will took advantage of ICO program.

As an investor its always been part of our homework on doing these things which we should investigate and research up all the details when it comes to legitimacy and transparency on all the members of the team.If you do see some suspicious act or identity then its better to pass up and jump into another potential project.Dont risk out or careless dive in without any proper research because losing out money chances would really be high.Dont be at rush when it comes to investing.

There are a lot of fake ICO's around and being aware from it is our responsibility, that is why investing in cryptocurrency isnt easy. Its normal and its a must that we do our own research before stepping our first foot in. I appreciate that there are some who constantly giving precautions to investors, but this thing must be on our own common sense.
That is just one of many risk that cryptocurrency has.

There are indeed many ICOs that are conducted for their own benefit. They have brought great influence to the market. If possible, I hope we can resist this behavior together. Investment needs rationality.

Not all ICO are good and majority will have hardly any value once they gets listed. You need to be very selective and choosy when investing in any ICO It is your money that you need to take care and ensure that you invested and getting right returns on it.

Investing is a very risky thing, it can make your money gone or multiply.
We should always be careful in choosing good ICO, because some of them are scam. So to minimize the risk, we should read first all the information, like its whitepaper, road map and etc. And try also to join or invest in a ICO with trusted dev. or member. Because some of their project are very successful.

People should be scared of shitcoins. That's the painful truth! There's so many crypto scams out there that it can be compared to walking on a minefield. To put your money in, profit and get out requires you to take a number of steps on the minefield and chances that you'll blow yourself up are high. People are lying to themselves thinking they can outsmart the scammers and that's how it ends: in tears.

A whole lot of them and it is no longer about trying to see if it is a project that can be feasible anymore, it is about making sure you are investing your funds in the hands of the right team which a lot of people do not, which even at that, nothing is guaranteed.

So many of them even use fake profiles, some usually do not have any achievements and then I see a lot of investors still investing in such projects. It is a risky space on its own and it seriously takes being extra careful to be able to play safe, while still having it at the back of your mind that investing in ICOs is more or less a gamble. Apparently, we cannot run away from regulations after all, as it seems it is the only solution here.
