In the current situation there is many ICOs but some are not legit or what we called scam ICOs. Through the year 2018 there's so many ICOs that have been scam and ICOs that have been failed. So if you really want to choose or have a good ICO better to do some research before promoting such an ico or joining it.

You need to gain experience about icos . You can not detect very good ico easily. You need to search about firstly past good icos website. You need to do your research about these icos and you need to look their team investors whitepapers. After you learn info about some good icos. YOu can enter these new icos website and you need to look one more time with your experience. Whitepaper  and team is the most important things for icos. But firstly you need to learn informations from good icos websites. and with that way you can understand how seems a good ico like .

No right way to find out legit ICO. Most important factor to avoid scam - it is to investigate team of the project and try to contact with team members via independent contacts. Don't use contacts on ICO site, because it could be part of scam scheme. If you are have confirmation that team members are real and you trust to this people - it is good ICO for investments!

You are absolutely right, there is no way to find legit ICO, even though they might have good and solid team, it's not a guaranty that they will do well, i have join an ICO that had best of team but they are doing very poorly at the moment, so joining an ICO is risky and that's more reason it is good to invest with what you can afford to lose.

There are different indicators, like scam projects who try to get some money with organizing an ICO, but I think that more and more people know what is important to spot a legit ICO.

Yes Ico is still legit. But its up to you on how you apply verification and other things needed to prove that the ico is legit or not. You can also further refer to some ico review site that they provide good and legit ico's in line.
