I just spotted the following in TERMS & CONDITIONS for the Golden Ticket contest:

The winner can also opt to receive US$200,000 in lieu of the car, paid in bitcoins using the exchange rate after the lottery drawing has been done.

That's actually a very good thing because not all of us can afford paying the excess shipping costs and any applicable taxes or fees, but $200,000 in BTC wouldn't hurt anyone for sure.

Now I can sleep with a peaceful mind not worrying about all those taxes and stuff.

Yeah, and that would be a god damn nice if the exchange rate within that period is around $2500 or 80 BTC...birth to another freebitco.in whale in the wagering contest lol. And the most important thing is to feed it with load shit of fuel, maintenance, fixes...all having a good price quote

Free golden tickets you winning every time you wager 500000 sat are not counting for the content (excluded from picking up lucky winner). Only golden tickets you buy for 25000 sat are counting for.

toghether with total withdraw, total deposit too, what i think is this guy apart from programming knowledge he probably has quite deep knowledge on banking industry too, risk of upto 80 btc or more to payout within 6 months with uncertain on withdraw, deposit, free give away things, wager, etc...

It is a pity that the "Wager" entries are included into the total amount of tickets that are bought, I would have liked to see how many people are actually buying tickets and how many are getting it via the wager/bet option.  

The old users with massive amounts of referrals have a obvious advantage over the people who are buying tickets, because they get free income from the site to buy or wager for the tickets.  

We are only a few days in and there are already more than 200 000 tickets in total. <We can do this more often, if this is the kind of support that this event is getting>

So it is over $320k in the prize pool already although the contest has barely started. It is very likely that there will be over $1 million in the prize pool. Can we expect more than one Lamborghini then?

That's so quick, with less than a week in they've already made $120k worth of profits already. They probably won't have give out an extra lambo even if the total value of tickets rise up to a million dollars since the price could go down within those 6 months  unless they put up some kind of ticket goal. If they'll have another big lottery like this in the future maybe they could have more than one prizes knowing that their first big lottery was a huge success after several days.

You are assuming that all the tickets are bought and that is wrong, because the majority of those tickets might be generated from people getting free tickets to the draw via the wager option to obtain tickets. I assume that the return from wagering 500 000 satoshi on the site, gives a profit equal or more than the cost of one ticket for Freebitco.in. <Price per ticket = BTC0.00025000>

A lot of those tickets are bought with Freebitco.in's own money that are paid for referral income.

Don't jinx it haha. I will be throwing in a few of my own tickets in the mix, but we got a whole lot of time before that happen. If I win it, I'm definitely going to set aside maybe half of that to risk in wagering and getting a win in the normal lotto you know what they say, right? You get a lucky streak, you better make full use of it. Call it fantasy but hey, a guy can dream all the time if he hasn't got much to do else correct?

I can't believe how many people and how many tickets are in this already.

Would you consider cutting it short because of the number of tickets sold or will you continue to wait that said 6 month period just in case? As Kakmakr just explained above we are giving away most of the tickets. Even a lot of the tickets that are being bought are being paid with Bitcoin from the faucet and referral income (which comes from us).

Edit: wetsuit just updated me on the current split.
So far we have sold 0.5 BTC worth of tickets and given away 67 BTC in tickets.

I have been reading this thread for years, and what I have noticed is that your referral program is what being abused by various scammers the most. I think maybe you are too generous with your referral commission rates



and although it could be a good marketing move in the beginning, maybe it's time to reconsider your policy regarding referrals.

@Kakmakr, assuming that the house takes the edge from wagers, then every 0.005 BTC wagered gives the house 0.00025 BTC in earnings (on a 5% Multiply edge). Of course, we'll assume they have to pay ref fees etc etc but I think it's fair to say that Lambo's already paid for itself;)

You're not taking into account that that amount would mostly have been wagered anyway and pays the faucet and everything else. To pay for the Lambo it has to be an increase in wagered amount caused by the Lambo contest.... which is, of course, impossible to measure.

In this case i will probably prefer to get paid in cold cash rather than a lambo that i cannot drive due to road condition at my country Specially the taxes and custom duties that cost almost the same price of the current market price of each lambo. Not worth it

Pleasure's ours. We don't have the resources to go all out and find every great story there is out there, and this site was one of the earliest names I'd known about when first getting acquainted with Bitcoin. In my eyes, anyway, that's its own fair share of contribution to Bitcoin awareness. And behind it a small passionate team, which is really all the tiny parcels of what's driving this larger community.

And yes, of course, I forget, without the Lambo even people are already wagering. I suppose it would be interesting to see just how much more tickets in the normal lotto are gained than in usual weeks. My guess is significantly more!
