just curious if anybody here developed a calculator to know the odds after X BTC is placed on a certain selection
as I remember someone in the past made something similar for onehash so would be great if there is a calculator for freebitcoin as well

And thanks TheQuin, I finally understand the system now. I knew this is very different from fixed odds sportsbet, but this is very, very different! Imagine if only 1 guy bet on the team B and 100 guys bet on team A! What's the commission on these? (again sorry if already explained)

The prize pool is the sum of the amount bet on all the losing outcomes minus our 5% commission. In the event that more than 95% was bet on the winning outcome then we just reduce the house edge. We have only had 2 events where more than 95% was bet on one outcome so far and in both cases the longshot bet ended up being the winner. (Lesson: always bet on an England batting collapse when they are heavy favourites to win.  )

Thanks for that response. I think for me, when over 80% bet on a one team then for sure you know the value is nothing worth putting big money on. And if it's small money, it's only a tiny return for the small odds, so in the end it's pointless.

Whoever won those two longshot bets must feel very happy they did. They probably won a lot more than if they bet somewhere else, huh!

That's the thing I have found interesting since we started doing this. There is often a big disparity in the fixed odds bookers pricing and what our customers bet on. We often have some very good value bets available.

Well, that is the good part about the betting here, the long shots have a higher odd chance here than anywhere else. I know in normal cases the winner is getting less than anticipated and odds may not be great for the winner in many cases but that comes with a reward too with the low chance winning option, so you give up from the favorites odds but you gain from the not favorite teams side.

There are of course still some cases where its indecisive who will win and those are my favorites, like two teams (or two any option since freebitcoin doesn't only offer sports) who are so close to each other that you don't know which one will win, those are the greatest payers most commonly, since winners usually win and long shots are literally long shots but when two sides are too close to each other it makes it so much more rewarding when you pick the right one.

let's say I want to bet 0.02 BTC on Tie , such calculator can do the math and tell me how my bet will affect the odds so it will tell me if I place the bet how it will change the odds for all of the selections

and since onehash had one I guess freebitcoin can have one as well

it's not about the lottery or dice , it's about the betting section that freebitcoin has so IDK if you don't know that you can bet on some sport events now with freebitcoin
basically when you bet on a certain selection the odds for the selection will decrease and the odds for the other selections will increase

You most certainly missed all the South African games played in the World cup so far, because they only won one or two games and they are second or third from the bottom in the rankings.    You got to be crazy to place a bet on them, because they really suck. 

Oh, well.... I take some outside chances on some of these bets too, just on the off chance that these teams or individuals might have a great day and end up winning something. I even bet on some of the stuff, I have no clue... so I just follow the majority.

Yeah, having a calculator like that would make a huge difference. I mean we only get to find out how much we change the odds after we make the bets, however thanks to something like that we can get to see it before we make the bet and can calculate if it worth it or not, sometimes it makes it like not worth it at all and you are risking money for something you think not worth the risk for, so if we can get that back then we could totally use it.

However, do not miss out on the fact that even if we get something like that, someone can bet after you and change the whole thing once again, so you would be changing the bet and know it before you bet but then an hour later someone can come in and make a bet that changes your odds all the same so you are back to where you are started not knowing what odd you are betting on.

I've not done it any time recently but I used to do esports live betting like that and would sell the bet at that point when the odds swing to its favour mid match.   Even if you lose then, you already made a profit  and its nice when you cant watch the entire match to hedge like that.    Sadly that site disappeared and did not return customer funds, just as well I was not active at that point

but still having this calculator is nice , it doesn't only give you the odds after you betting but you can get a bigger idea as well
like you can assume that for examole 0.5 BTC will be wagered on a certain selection and you can see if people did actually wager that much what the odds will be as well
