Really? It's the first time I've heard about this. Is there any link to an announcement or any other thing help me for more details?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=319540.msg29578182#msg29578182
But I'm not sure that their plans are still same because this post was made long time ago. Maybe TheQuin can answer better about future plans of Freebitco.in.

that was a great idea for the future of this site, i don't know why we haven't seen anything yet. i was mostly excited about the addition of altcoins and the fact that you could easily exchange them for bitcoin ("a no-KYC shapeshift.io style exchange"), this is specially interesting because they have such ridiculously low withdrawal fees (since they batch transactions) compared to exchanges.

Anybody can create a no KYC shapeshift right away. Just hire a few coders and they'll copy/paste shapeshift's code w/o KYC for you.

The tricky part is how is freebitco.in going to avoid the power which forced shapeshift to implement KYC. If that power (FEDs, police, CIA, NSA whatever your call them) wants to find out who the owner of freebitco.in, they'll find him and those guys are pretty good at intimidating people. They gave Voorhees 2 choices:

a) Go to prison for life
b) Force KYC and keep your business.

Maybe it is going to have a chance if they come up with a decentralized app. Otherwise  I find it unrealistic.

yeah but the difference would be shapeshift has only one purpose and without it the site won't exist. but it is not true about this case. if some day there were some pressure from some governments then they could easily remove that particular feature and continue on. not to mention that it could all come down to how much that feature is being used.
for example you could do the exchange in bitsler.com too and this feature has been around for a very long time. i have never heard of any government pressuring them in any ways.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

The strategy to get money from faucets is not really a big strategy, you can't really make that much money from faucets, even if you go around and get paid from 100 faucets (don't know if there are 100 faucets that works) at most they give you is 2-3 satoshi at this point per try and if you do it hourly that is around 200 satoshi which means 2k daily if you do 10 hours.

Is it doable? Sure, you can at least get your first start in bitcoin world like that and if you work for a whole month like that then you would be able to make some starting money for some trades and all that. However is it profitable? Not really, you are better using that time to do some other work and get paid, there are airdrops and bounties and all that which rewards for actual work you put in.

-snip-

well there is a difference between a casino's exchange and shapeshift or any other similar service
Bitsler if I'm correct , has around 3-5% exchange fee , some currencies more , some less with the rates taken from one of the services or large exchanges and checked/changed every minute or so
Stake, for example , partnered with Coinswitch and provide exchange off site
Duckdice , Windice and Yolodice all have their own exchanges
you can read their terms to see they are AML compliant , some of the sites mentioned CAN request KYC , although they rarely do so
I don't think that authorities will monitor petty volumes like the ones going through casino's exchanges and only a not ... very wise criminal would risk depositing to a casino to exchange coins there

Right now they are doing the deposit bonus again, wish I was a bit richer to make another deposit because that seems a nice bonus and the % interest is ok by me because I live in one of the silly countries with nearly zero returns on cash.
Do you now that you need to wager 25 times the amount you claim for bonus before you become able to withdraw that?
I guess you live in a country with a very low inflation rate and good economic condition. Never be sad for low interest rates. Do you prefer to get 30% interest rate but have 50% inflation rate?
Any way, I agree that the interest rate on freebitco is really fair and fine. Freebitco has many other good options such as easy sending and receiving bitcoin, the weekly lottery and now its Lambo lottery. You can also bet on different events and enjoy it.

I do not think that you are understand on what he meant. I believe for the bonus that he mentioned about is the lambo tickets in which if you deposit minimuk amount that they mentioned about without doing the wagering, you will directly get the tickets so just by depositing the exact amount you will be able to get it. This is very generous for them to give away this tickets which let us participate on the biggest event ever right now

Although it seems a worthless effort and a waste of time but think of it if a person has no skills and is new in the bitcoin world. Such a person can still work on faucets before he get any decent work. It is better to work and earn something than to remain idle and jobless.
But faucets should not be abused by making multiple accounts. You should work on different faucets on different sites.

Plus for people like me who live in third world countries (and the person who said they wish they could as well) it is really a lot of money.

If you have like lets say 10 bitcoins, you literally never have to work again in your entire life but just living under the 4% interest rate of it. 4% of 10 bitcoins is 0.4 bitcoins, so you would make yearly 0.4 bitcoins and that is sort of enough to live a year, maybe not easily, could be a bit difficult but its really possible to just "survive", you won't be living a good life but you also would not starve, so just get 10 bitcoins and put it on freebitcoin and you are set for life. If you increase that to 20 or 30, it becomes literally a good life all of a sudden as well. If the price goes up then it is even better!

Shouldn't compare freebitco with shapeshift. Freebitco is not an exchange.

It's true that they give users Free Lambo tickets only for depositing. But these tickets do not increase the value of prize. The prize is a Lambo or 200,000 dollar if the winner want to be paid in bitcoins. Actually, they don't spend money when they give users these tickets.

I think some people on here misunderstood my post about earning from faucets and then leaving it on FreeBitcoin to earn from the 4% interest. Yes I have earned 0.005 from faucets over the past few weeks however it wasn't just from FreeBitcoin but from many different faucets including Altcoin faucets which can pay off if that coin happens to go up like they sometimes do. I then sell them for BTC and deposit that into FreeBitcoin for the 4% interest so it can be done, it just takes time.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

What people were trying to tell you is that this is far from being profitable, even if you live in a country where ~50$ for "a few weeks" may be a good income. To calculate your profit you would have to substract costs for electricity and of course your time if you would have a done regular work or eg. extra hours at work instead of collecting those faucets. Those 50$ would shrink rapidly.
Times are definitly over when collecting faucets was profitable, nowadays its just for fun in my opinion Smiley

It is profitable. It better than doing nothing. Getting 30k sats and %4 interest is apparently bigger than zero. It is like chasing those P2Click sites. The difference is of course, BTC will probably gain value unlike USD.

What they trying you tell is, you should find a more profitable way to generate BTC. Even a shitty blog can bring you $100 monthly if you do it right. (and it will have the potential to get even bigger later)

Those "fun" Satoshi might end up being worth a lot in the future. I can remember when I started with this faucet and when they paid out 1000+ Satoshi/hour back then. People were telling me that it was a waste of time and that I will never collect enough to break even with the electricity cost I had to pay etc.... and I proved them wrong.

My computer runs 16 hours a day for normal internet activity, word processing, gaming and online Banking and none of those activities are paying a cent towards the electricity that I used for those activities, but whilst I am doing that, I quickly flipped a tab to the Freebitco.in faucet <5 seconds> and I claimed from the faucet a couple of times a day. Those Satoshi collected on my account for years and the price increased a lot since then.... I sold some of that a while back and it paid for a lot more than what I spend on electricity to acquire it.  Grin

It's a time game.  Wink

Freebitcoin it been my first and only faucet that i use i registered like after one month of lunching it so i got more than 600 referrals i was making a lot money doing nothing, then day by day the profits was decreasing until you added the gambling dice feature to the site and the betting too that's was cool. But honestly i didn't like the lottery i lost a lot of money in it without getting anything back. That why i never have hope to win.

yeah they should worth much more in the future , in my early days I remember that making like 40K sats a day wasn't hard at all in faucets
Ethereum faucets right  after Ethereum launch were paying at least 0.002 ETH per claim as I remember and I was able to collect 0.3 ETH in 2 days

now it worth a lot but at that time it was nothing , I guess this isn't a good argument since if you spend your time doing any other job and convert that money to btc you will make much more
of course I'm not talking about someone who just has freebitcoin tab open and claim it for fun , I'm talking about the people who do a lot of faucets for different coins and even multi account

overall the interest is amazing , I saw some lending sites that offer better percentage but their requirements are a joke where you have to pay fees for deposits and withdrawals
it's much easier using freebitcoin and 4% is much better than making nothing

Hey. Admin. Please add UEFA Champions League. Group stage matches for betting. It's such a popular event and no options yet  Huh

I would second this motion.

However, it appears they may have removed football from their betting activities altogether as its no longer a category to select and there are no football matches whatsoever to bet on.

Strange, as I thought they would attract much more interest then ODI's between Pakistan and Sri Lanka (which may not even go ahead by the way.)

It's sad if true. I don't play any dice games and do betting mostly football (soccer). Hope admin's will add more football matches in the future. Also american football season just started, If they add these matches as well it can attract more new customers.

Freebitco is now more focused on Rugby and Cricket. I don't think these sports are more popular than Football and basketball matches. I don't know why freebitco doesn't add popular tournaments like UEFA champions league. No other website prefer Rugby and Cricket to football.

WOW 4%?  What site gives that!  Because it sure as shit isnt this one lol.  It's 0.04% NOT 4% hahahaha.  The day this shithole gives 4% is the day I retire and finally achieve my goal of having referral income be enough to reitre on.  All the "extra" crap should be removed and the referral income increased as a result.

Watch me rape Freebitco.in 24x7 with my gambling bot (you can to) here: https://dlive.tv/btctrading I also do some trading there as well.

Free tickets for stuff like this is a bit of a tricky situation. Now we have people who have bought tickets directly and thats great, that money goes directly to the lambo purchasing part (they probably already have that much money anyway) however for people who get deposit bonus tickets, people who earned from affiliates and got it, people who wagered and go it, they are all basically getting a ticket for free without spending their money. This is why casino is actually not profiting as much as people think, just calculating how much tickets where bought times the ticket price doesn't make it justice. Are they making ANY profit?

Well maybe, only wetsuit can answer that (maybe thequin as well) but I doubt the number is that high, I would bet on not making any profit so far.

I agree with you because football is the number one game in the world, although ... for example, cricket is very popular in India...
As a boxing fan, I really miss this cool sport, because almost every week we can see a lot of very interesting fights in different categories.
I think many sports can be added. Probably, this is in the plans of the project representatives, because the greater the diversity, the more people will leave their bets Wink
