FreeBitcoin takes a flat 5% on bets, and the rest of the money is in the pool. If too many people bet on it, the odds drop and it's no longer +EV. I wasn't on the Arsenal match but I've placed a few +EV bets, yes.

@redsun114 I don't know if they take a cut for lottery but they put in a lot of free tickets without increasing the pool by a proportional amount. Thus, the lottery is very -EV even if the house doesn't profit in it.

I've said that it's possible to get +EV bets on FreeBitcoin and that buying lottery tickets is dumb since you're playing with a extremely high effective house edge. I've never stated that you can profit hundreds of thousands of dollars from FreeBitcoin by betting on sports when the 'market' makes it +EV.

I had a friend profit about $2000 once due to a significant upset, and that's the largest I've heard from people betting +EV on this site. He's the only one I talk with who does/did this though.

EV is everything and luck isn't important at all when you are repeating the  bets for long time

and yes there are professional gamblers , have you ever wondered why Bet365 , Unitbet , Williamhill , Fortunejack , sportsbet.....etc limit some people ?
if all gamblers were the same and all bets totally depend on luck they wouldn't bother limiting anyone , but they only limit sharp bettors who are able to make +EV bets and beat the starting price

Odds are determined based on probability of different outcomes of an event so the house makes profit.
If we use the probabilities considered by the house for calculation of EV, EV is always negative.
There are some gamblers that calculate the EV based on implied probability. Implied probability is the probability of winning of teams based on the gambler's opinion and analysis.
If implied probability differs from probability. The expected value might be positive.
Note that the website always makes profit. No matter what is the outcome of the event. Positive expected value does not mean that the website does not make profit or it goes bankrupt. Because the house edge is always positive.
So, the expected value is positive only if we use implied probability in the calculation of that.

I don't use them alone though so I can just search that game in any other site and bet it as well

they don't ruin casinos earnings BTW , you may only profit 1000$ with a sportsbetting site and they can limit you after that

Well, if we had a bet on the Rugby World Cup match between Fiji and Uruguay, a lot of people would have lost a shitload of money, because I would have never guessed in my wildest dreams that Uruguay would have won Fiji. 

I think I am going to bet on the underdogs from now on, because the difference between countries are getting smaller and smaller with former coaches from big teams, coaching lesser known teams now and lots of players from stronger countries playing for smaller countries.

People think that if they bet on the smaller team that becomes +ev positive for some reason. That is not always the case, the simple mathematics normally behind all of these sportsbooks (which freebitcoin could be considered to have a part of it on betting) is that when people bet on each side, the total should come down to whoever side wins website gets a cut, so the losers should be paying for the winners, now that doesn't always happen on all bets but when you take the average on a long term for a sportsbooks life that should be the eventual outcome. Hence there is really no +ev in long term, sure there are small once in a while ones but they are not common and they never happen frequently which is why sportsbooks manage to make so much money in the end.
