The issues with Doge are the amount of time it takes to fight abuse. It's a labour-intensive task and the profits didn't justify the costs. The other limiting factor is the Doge core software. It hasn't been maintained and updated as the Bitcoin core software has. That means that our node struggled to deal with the volume of transactions we were doing making it frequently lag the network causing support issues. If we had done anything to try and increase the volume on the site that would have just got worse.

How does the casino faucet abuse happen? It's because it's actually humans that solve the captcha for the bots.

Due to low wages in certain countries there are people who are solving captcha's for $0.50-$1.00/hr and the solved captcha is sent to the bots which abuse the faucet in the casino.

Hence this is why so many casino operators just removed the faucet all together or decreased it to a very small amount like 10 sats which wouldn't be worth the hassle to abuse.

Yes. It's completely different as it doesn't give a challenge. Google just give a score based on their risk assessment. It isn't accurate enough to be much use.

Maybe it's not. I think it is very likely that the very people who were writing scripts for you were cleaning out your faucets later. You shouldn't hire random people for that kind of job. They should be either your close friends or people who are working for a very well known and reputable company. And the latter option is much more preferable, imo. Also, being not a coder, after the script is done, I would give it to a third party to check it for backdoors. But that's what I'd do if I weren't aware of freebitco.in's existence. I think the easiest way to get a good faucet script is to ask TheQuin, who were the people that wrote script for them, and order it from the same place.

I was going to say if computers cannot solve the picture recognition thing then machine learning and all that stuff is not as advanced as I thought it had got to.  Not that I think scammers are using cutting edge technology but it usually relates some.

I was a forum moderator for a popular Bitcoin forum where people got paid for activity and it was a endless task to stop these bots. In the end,

we had to stop the automatic payment option and we had to implement a internal database that needed manual verification process to grant

approval of all the withdrawals to manage this risk. It became too time consuming to do this manually, so we stopped the "paid to post" option.

I take my hat off to sites that has to go through all this effort to automate payment/faucet options and to battle all these bots on a daily basis.

Running a faucet, exchange, online casino... etc is serious business.

People see all these casinos/exchanges like freebitco.in, primedice, binance making lots of money but there is a reason for that. Not everybody can do it. If it was that easy, then everybody would do it and nobody would make any money. Supply and demand as always.

In your situation though... running a free script? These people put them there just so they can hack your business later. You either code it yourself or hire someone for the job. Either way it is never easy or cheap.

You're right, captcha is a very small part of the defences. Without it abuse would be so easy everyone would try it but it doesn't stop the determined thief. Kprawn was on the right lines. Manually reviewing withdrawal requests is the most effective way of combatting abuse.

Like Darkstar_ has mentioned before, I guess Google checks your IP and if you IP is "clean" then you most likely will get an easy form of Captcha or maybe it will let you bypass the captcha since its the same IP used on the same website before.

However the captcha solvers are either somewhere in 3rd world countries or they use some form of VPN and they get the more sophisticated captcha's. If you are ever bored go and find those "Captcha solver jobs" that pay like $0.50/hour and you will see that the captcha's you are given there to solve will be much more complex, basically I did it out of boredom once and it took almost 30 seconds to solve those captcha's compared to the regular capcha's we see everyday which takes like 5 seconds to solve.

So the captcha's for the bots are sophisticated but there is still abuse on casinos and faucets. This is why many sites rather just have some promos because that way more of the "faucet funds" is redirected to the loyal members of the website and not to someone who joins the site, never makes a deposit and just tries to profit off the faucet.
