Very sorry for you man.

Assuming what he says is true, since I don't usually believe what I read in forums at first glance, especially when it comes to amounts, I hope he has at least 20 times that amount in cold storage. But I suspect there will be many people who have been trapped because they left everything they have there.

It's really odd seeing some naive people in this thread still thinking that FBC may suddenly change their minds and reimburse all the victims properly. It would take a proper miracle for something like that to happen especially in this economy.

Sad to see them turn into a scam site and it definitely looks like they will run for the hills at any moment now. Smh!

It is all what is left for people, to be honest, I do not judge those who have some hope for this casino to experiment at attack of morality and give all the money back to their clients, investors and gamblers. Have you ever read about the phases or steps of grief?, most people here are at the negotiation phase and they would be okey if freebitcoin gave some of the money back and kept the rest.

People are not being gullible, they are doing what is proper from people who have lost money and are at the mercy of a third party. If we were in the same situation, we would do exactly the same.

Also, i don't understand how the administration of Freebitcoin could be possibly thinking about giving money back but at the same time move money to Binance wallets, if they wanted to refund what is owed to people, they would not send their Bitcoin to a centralized service like Binance.

Very sorry for you man.
I would not even know what to do if I was you, all you can do is pray for these people not to consider you to be an abuser of their system. Would you care to share how you manage to accumulate such big amount of money on your account and why you decided to keep all of it on there instead of withdrawing it to your personal wallet?

It must be very painful to see half Bitcoin getting stripped from you because you decided to trust the wrong people with your money...
Have you tried to withdraw it all already or you are just waiting to see whether they run with your money or give some of it back to you?

I was using my freebitco.in account as my wallet to collect 4% APY.

Are you serious? Where you sleeping when the problem Started? If you were an active member as of then when the problem just started, you would have gotten something out from them. The problem didn't start just once, it was a rigorous process and at least people struggled hard to get something out from them. What really happened? Well sorry for your lost.

Edited

Aha!! That was bad of you. Upon all the warning from people in the internet not to use centralized system to save coins, you didn't see that, yet you choose FBC to save. You would have known before using them. I don't think this should need sorry because just like you knew it and decided to gave a try and here is the outcome of it.

I put some BTC on binance, there with some movement , you might make a profit of 10 % per year.   Anyways Im make a complain in local authority , a few month ago . They are investigating, not yet they didnt give me a answer. Im following that in a group in telegram with that info.

If they will really make a run, why they will they take care of putting those messages of closing? or close deposit with a warning? or be so stupid to send funds to KYC exchange .? maybe they true where hacked or abused, or they must just lose they wallet keys in a hardware/software fail, the web had many technical issues , that could happend.  , and true they might  be short on BTC .

Still hope, they might just give us some token maybe, like once did bitfinex when they where hack, lets see was else might be.

When you login to Freebitco and then hover your mouse over More button, why does it still list Dplay and Club Riches? I can't visit these websites, they are shut down. It takes only a few minutes to edit that thing on website. Why wouldn't someone edit that? Such an inattentiveness doesn't make sense to me.

Does anybody know how many people had Bitcoin deposit on Freebitco? They had up to 4% APY on Bitcoin deposits, which was a great offer, especially from a website that had such a huge trust in the community. I would love to know (if possible of course) how many Bitcoins were deposited on Freebitco just to get 4% APY and how many of them are withdrawn? I hope that they didn't also scam those who were getting APY from Freebitco.

Thanks for this link. I didn't know they had such information available to the public.
I see it contains the total balance of users (until December 11), the total amount of bitcoin wagered by users in the past 10 days and also the last 10 payments they have made.

Still hope
hope is dead.

they might just give us some token maybe, like once did bitfinex when they where hack, lets see was else might be.
two completely different situations, bitfinex was still around after the hack and still is, while freebitco.in is closing and possibly going away for good (unless someone gets their hands on the domain and revives it).
and why would you want to get some token that will be worthless?

I understand the situation is very different , what I remember they give all bitfinex users, the token. This token had a secondary market, in fact I buy some from other users, after a couple of year ( don't remember maybe a few months went 1 = 1 )  the token value went much over 1 = 1 so I dont just recover my money , but also make some profit. Of course the risk is the token goes to 0 zero. But rather than nothing is better a token.....off course I dont want this and I will wait to the new front-page to make withdraws on 2026. I only play some times and unfortunaly I deposit to make the 4% interest mostly.

I'm wondering what to do. I haven't been able to log into my account for over a year. They changed my login. I've already sent hundreds of emails and haven't received a single response. I don't have a single referral. I used FreeBitcoin as a wallet to earn interest. If this is what they did to me, how will they treat others?

Their debt to users may be much bigger.
Once you request a withdrawal on freebitco, the amount is deducted from your balance. Therefore, the total balance of users that is reported there may not include pending withdrawals.

Their debt to users may be much bigger.
Once you request a withdrawal on freebitco, the amount is deducted from your balance. Therefore, the total balance of users that is reported there may not include pending withdrawals.

It's impossible to request withdrawals right now since that withdrawal button leads to that white message about closure, correct?

I know that. I was referring to the withdrawals that have been requested before and are still pending.
According to this page, the total balance of users is around 710 BTC and if that number doesn't include pending withdrawals, their total debt to users should be much bigger than 710 BTC.

I am a old timer on the site, but I'd not been active in this forum.

I admit that I was dumb and did not catch up with all the signs and the situation from 2024.

When I realized this, I started making a series of withdrawals. Saved some.
When I finally tried to make larger withdrawals, the balance got on pending. I was exactly one week late this year, when all withdrawals got on pending. I believe there should be many people like me that simply didn't care, wasn't on the forum or got distracted.

Overall, my loss amounts to a few thousand dollars.

But why did you put a series of withdrawals and not opt to withdraw all of it together ?
If you would have been lucky then you would have got your entire balance withdrawn.
Freebitco.in has been having these issues for almost 1.5 years, so there was a good amount of time to get it noticed.

That is exactly my grief. Worded like that.

There is no good answer. I was careless and downplayed the situation.

Also, my life didn't revolve around freebitco.in, having assets on many places. I had funds there for years.

Even if you haven't been active on the forum and haven't visited this thread since the problems on the freebitcoin site began, haven't you noticed anything strange on the site itself during this long period? It seems to me that any active user could have suspected something was wrong back when the freebitcoin team stopped holding the Lambo lottery draws.

I did notice. I thought it was a FUN token failure at some point or the site was going to fix mistakes. Doesn't matter now. The point is that I didn't expect it to be this bad and that they were going to be despicable. Even now, with all the evidence, they're still trying to play on hope and painfully promising to pay.

I still have the balance 0.5 BTC

Same. I had a fraction of what you had. But it's the same. That's why I'm now curious about what could be the biggest amount or the average amount left there.

I think that none of the millions of freebitcoin users expected or could have foreseen such a sad outcome. By the way, just a couple of years ago, they had an excellent reputation, but then something went wrong.
We will probably never know what exactly caused it. Although they trivially refer to "widespread abuse" across the website, but I think that's not the case.

Yeah exactly, let's not allow ourselves to be deceived first and second time and again..
They already knew they were going to cease operation at this time even before this whole thing started, and I would say that its been their intention all along to cater away with funds belonging to their users since they will have to possibly depend on that money for the rest of their lives when they finally shut everything down on this site.

A good business that wants to shut down and doesn't want to scam their users doesn't start by actually scamming them, they start by announcing that they will be shutting down at so so time, and all users are expected to have withdrawn all their money on their site by that time.
This is to the best of my knowledge.
I don't believe that they intentionally wanted to scam people. They have been running this business for 12 years, have paid lots of Bitcoins and have had a huge trust in the community. They were even recommended by one of the first crypto exchanges as a way of earning your first Bitcoins. There are some things happening behind the scenes that we don't know. If Freebitco really wanted to scam people, then they wouldn't have allowed people to withdraw money months ago. Some people had a problem with withdrawing some $$ while some people were able to withdraw $10K. Lots of withdrawals were also processed later. Actually, this approach destroys business more than anything else. They basically emptied their wallets before they decided to shut down. If they really wanted to scam people, they could very easily do it in a much profitable way.

I don't believe that they intentionally wanted to scam people.

If you observe how scam websites disappear, you'll see they have something in common: the site starts making selective payments for a while, allowing other people to continue depositing money into the site hoping they will be paid, and they don't believe it when people who haven't been paid accuse the site of not paying them. When the site owners collect the desired amount, they disappear. In my opinion, this website was sold to someone else, and that person later realized the business was unsustainable. To recoup all the money they spent buying the website, they chose to scam.

If they will really make a run, why they will they take care of putting those messages of closing? or close deposit with a warning? or be so stupid to send funds to KYC exchange .?

This could be a strategy for them to buy enough time to erase all traces that lead to their real identity. Notice that the site has had the same problem for months and no one from the site has ever come forward to say anything, but suddenly, when someone posts that there's a chance of discovering their real identity, that's when the site owners appeared with news. It's clear they want to buy time to disappear completely.

Any pyramid scheme or other fraudulent scheme works exactly like this! It is necessary to create the illusion of a working model, so there must be a lot of talk about payments and stability so that the small group of first victims left without money simply dissolves in this “positive noise.” Or as they say, “you have to boil the frog slowly.” That is, when a person realizes that their money will never be returned, it becomes a fact and there is no solution to the problem. The picture is exactly the same here....
