I've just watched the John Oliver show about cryptocurrencies and something struck me about what he said:

 " like most currencies, the fundamental reason that bitcoin has value is that people agree that it has value"

I just want to know your thoughts on this. I only have a little understanding about the idea of currency and its value although i've already been at it all my life. Im new into this kind currency and right now its plumetting.

Bitcoin is very valuable today, it is expensive than the other cryptocurrency. Although it is unstable and unpredictable and we can say that it is risky to be part of bitcoin community, but I think everyone will still invest to it because they are believing to bitcoin.

I agree with John Oliver. It is really the truth. Just like any other things in this world, people will agree that this thing has a great value. You can search more in this forum and google on how Bitcoin's price is based in order to get the idea.

Do you think that USD is backed by anything else too? It's completely based on trust. Blockchain technology is sufficient for bitcoin to gain trust. All assets, especially on the stock market, is dependent on the investor.

We are all aware that bitcoin's value grew because of the massive the demand it recieved from the people, same thing goes with other coins. The value of bitcoin fully rely on the law of demand and supply wherein as more demand bitcoin receives, the higher its price yet less supply and to the opposite of it, that how goes with the value. We all agree that bitcoin has value which means we are demanding it.
