Anybody else have issues with the latest wallet? Mine in particular is not updating very fast (as it was before)

That is really strange to hear I just updated my wallet without any syncing issue sometimes slow internet speed cause this error. Keep open this wallet for few hours I hope this issue will get resolved because it working perfect for me.

I have 2 QT wallets on diff systems. To go from 2.1.2 to 2.1.3, fresh install fresh data DL and copy paste the dat files. Re-open GTG. They both stopped syncing and corrupted.

Yes  Yes  the  problem  is  persisting   fresh  wallet  reload  2.1.3.0   stuck  on  13  November 26 %    ,and  is  missed    about  1700  rvn   there  was  before in  it   ,to  re  test  to day  i  send   4  rvn  from   the  internet wallet, never  reached  120  minutes   after   any  expert   to  help   I  have    so  many  computer  mining  and  pending  no  safely  to  send  the  payment  .  (the  internet  conection  is  very  good  !  )

Make a fresh data folder, and do a new install in a new folder there's a reset options. Pull the entire database down, then copy your dat file to it. Relaunch wallet. Everything should work.  It's a pain but thats what i had to do to both my wallets.

The problem is that you need a fresh install. New directory new dat file. After the install go into options. You have click "reset" this will allow you to pick a new data DIR. Pull down the whole 48 weeks of data to the new DIR. After it's up and running. Delete the new dat file, copy old one into that DIR, re-launch wallet. Super pain but this fixed both my wallets.

I have the same problems.

It's not a problem the devs are going to fix for you. Re-install the wallet, import backup your dat file. All the QT wallets for coins are pretty much the same as RVN.'s. You need to be responsible for your own wallets maintenance and backups.

The difficulty is so high you'd be better off mining something like ethereum and then trading for ravencoin. You'd get more rvn that way.

That's my point, I've mined for 24 hours rvn directly, and mined something else and swapped for rvn. You get more mining something else and trading for raven.

This is why I asked if there is a new miner or something else I'm missing as to why rvn has so many miners, even when the difficulty doesn't justify this approach.

I suspect that there is people mining RVN almost "on loss" to support the project. Kind of a way of initial investing. I also suspect that RVN is not as decentralized as they want us to believe. This "central authority" is mining RVN altough they are loosing some money. Probably with FPGAs.

Exactly, but since someone already bought those FPGA's and paid coder to make mining software for that model of FPGA, it is obvious that he's gonna mine the sh*t out of the RVN with them. He will mine with profit even if price fall to 100 satoshi and all GPU miners will switch off at 300 (or maybe 200 if some of GPU miners have cheap electricity).
In bull market largest hashpower counts, but in bear market better efficiency wins!

So, if someone mine with 6x 1080ti , he pay ~1.20 usd per day for electricity and earn ~4 usd in RVN. His profit is ~2.80 USD daily.
With 6x FPGA he pay same 1.20 usd of electricity and earn ~40 usd in RVN. His profit is ~38.8 usd daily.
With 10x better efficiency, you can have 14x bigger profit. Even if FPGA's use 5x more electricity, they are easy winners. In any possible calculation, FPGA mine with lot of profit.

You are totally right in the terms of ROI, but if we suppose that someone already have hardware, GPU's are very close to switch off and FPGA's are not even close. And when GPU's switch off, difficulty will drop and FPGA's gonna make even more coins.

Sure, I agree. All that Im saying is that it is not the best time to enter the market, so my guess is that that "authority" has assumed the risk to mine even if eventually they go "on loss".
