Lol Germany is already going home after a loss against South Korea. In 4 years time a lot has changed and not in a good way.
What a bad tournament of Germany, they were very lucky against Sweden but in the end they didn't really deserve to go through.

That's is the champion curse. Do you remember that previous champions of previous cups Italy, Spain, France and now Germany also fell out of the cup from the most beginning?

Not sure if I can believe on such things.. That's just part of pressure where the champion usually required to play extra in order to defend the title, instead played well they are in the worst situation. It's not happened in World Cup only ... Just look at how the English premier league champions ended up nearly got relegated . Poor Germany.

Worst case scenario for MEXICO here is a draw, and they still advance.

Sweden isn't a known powerhouse of offense, scoring only 1 goal in each of their 2 games.

MEXICO will play for the win, so maybe a play on the WIN or DRAW.

Talk about a horrible prediction that ended up turning out great for Mexico!

No one gave S. Korea a shot at surviving, let alone giving up 3 goals.

This WC has been full of surprises and I feel the excitement/upsets are just getting started.

I agree to all except one.  I think Uruguay vs Russia will end in a draw.  There's no need for them to go all out vs each other.  All they need to do is 'relax', just finish the match and be on their way to the KO stages.

I think this is clear that Russia and Uruguay both are tough teams but if you remember about Argentina and Croatia few days ago which was an upset. So I mean to say that anything is possible is game. About Portugal vs Iran I choose Portugal to win this game because I do not want upset here, I want win for such a team which has the potential to win in final.

Yes, Maradona (once again) didn't control his alcohol intake, most likely, I hope it wasn't cocaine. He has said he was tired and wasn't related to him drinking, he said he didn't take any drugs.. I can't believe that given past precedents.

With Senegal losing today, it means that they are out of the world cup, it also mean that no African team made it past the group stages this time around. It would have been lovely to see the African stars of Liverpool Salah and Mane at least entertain us a little more. I guess they can go home and rest better for the upcoming season.

Looking at the starting XI, Belgium have Fellaini, Dembélé, Chadli in midfield...not looking good LOL especially with Dendoncker and Botaya in the defence.

I'm looking forward to the game. Whoever wins gets to play vs Japan in the next round, but a win against japan means they could face Brazil/Mexico in the quarterfinals. And whoever loses today will have to play vs Colombia in the RO16, but they could have an "easier" quarterfinals (Sweden/Switzerland).

I guess they will play lightly, both of the team will and actually they should avoid any fouls resulting in Cards to avoid further complications. Anyway, Sweden is not easy as well as you seemed to portray, yeah, maybe not on same level, but they are good. And moreover in this most unpredictable World Cup, I say anything is possible or nothing is impossible.
