Game started and France has been firing on all cylinders so far. 1-0 with Greizmann from the penalty spot. The hero for Argentina last time around is today their first villain Marcos Rojo who gave the penalty away. Mbappe for France has just been tormenting the Argentina defense. And France hasn't lost a world cup match for many years in which they scored first, likewise any match so far which Griezmann has scored. All the signs show that Argentina are out today.

I'm betting for France this time. The reason is simple, I have a friend from this lovely country and I will support this nation for this game. Hopefully they come up with the victory.

It gets tougher to predict the winner but that also means that the World Cup is getting more exciting too. I would love to see Croatia in the finals!

I think France is to favorite to win against Argentina. Even though they also did not play that good, but I think the team of France is stronger and has a better team than Argentina. Argentina only really has Messi and if he fails, the whole team will fail.

It is France who has almost won against the Argentina. Some last minutes games pending and France is leading by 4-2. Unfortunately Messi did not score yet and in this world cup we missed the Messi what we have seen him previously. France is the team to look out for finals as well.

I think he faded away just like in Infinity war.

When Mbappe scored a fourth goal for France, the confidence of the Argentine players had somewhat collapsed. When Messi returned to goal with the goalkeeper, I realized that Argentina was going to be eliminated. Messi Aguero's connection came too late!

Did you notice how the Argentinian fans booed the French national anthem? Karma is a bitch sometimes haha. I have nothing against Diego Maradona personally but he strikes me as a very arrogant person aside from being coked up and high as a kite on all occasions. I have heard he got paid to be on the stadium and received a daily allowance along with some of his friends and bodyguard etc. Messi is not a leader like Ronaldo and Argentina should have been eliminated in the group stage had it not been for that big luck in the late minutes vs Nigeria.

The best game of the tournament so far with probably two of the best goals of the tournament. France were clearly the better team, but Argentina did well to claw their way back and even lead at one point. Was a shame they couldn't get a late equaliser but they were clearly running on fumes towards the end with their ageing team, especially against the youngsters of France. Can Ronaldo do what Messi failed to do in the Uruguay game later today? I wouldn't bet on it, but I think it's also going to be a close game and can't predict the winner right now so going for a draw to take them into extra time.

The performance of Argentinian players increased so much from the early continent qualification until now. It is unfortunate to see them quit let's say early but in the other hand they are lucky they made it this far...
For Uruguay, the opportunity they have in this game is gold'ish, they shouldn't miss it!

This is indeed a wonderful way for the French national team to break Argentina's winning streak over them and even when they were leading by 4-2 i had a feeling that Les Blues were not playing to their best ability. They could have even scored more goals but they seemed satisfied by the current scoreline.

Oh, what a day, what a game! I am so sad for Messi, I am so sad for Argentina, mainly because I lost a lot of bets on them hehe but really, I wanted Messi to have his World Cup so he could sleep well at night, after all he has fought for, carrying them to qualification, but it proved to much. On a good note, good to see that others also finally stepped up. 4-3 and conceding that early penalty is not a shameful defeat.

Argentina had chances to equalize but they missed them. That is soccer, when you are not good at finalizing occassions sooner rather than later you pack your things and go home. I am pretty sure that France will be eliminated without much effort in the next game, no matter who wins Uruguay or Portugal because both these teams do not have a pathetic defense and a pathetic goalkeeper. It was the fault of the goalkeeper of Argentina in the third goal of France that things got for the worse for Argentina (yes I am still mad at them losing against France).

Yeah right 70 minutes right now and Uruguay leading with 2-1. To be honest I like to see Ronaldo score some goal and advance further. Portugal deserve to advance further in this world cup and might makes the game much more interesting in the game against France rather than uruguay. Guess miracle wont really happen in this match

"curse" I think this is a proper word for ronaldo, because he never scored in the knockout phase, but I still like the ronaldo, his sportism attitude and it is very visible when he leads cavani out of the field without forcing him to immediately out even though Portugal is in a losing state.

Only 10 minutes to go, plus the extra added minutes at the end and that's it. Portugal still can make it, they are pushing hard now compared to the first half. I want to see Ronaldo continue in the world cump, with Messi and Ronaldo out so early it will not be the same.

I think (hope) they are going to score and we will go to penalties.
