This shows that individual brilliance counts for nothing, when you do not have the supporting cast. Argentina really didn't impress at this world cup and barely made it to the KOs. I am not surprised that they lost.

both teams fought well in this game but the more organized won. Uruguay played in their best form and Cavanai gave it qualification.WC is going to be without Messi and Ronaldo from now on i think it's an opportunity for others to get some share from fame in the media Mbappe and CAvani are today heroes tomorrow who knows who will shine and lift his team to the next elimination stage it's going to be an intresting game between Denmark and Croitia, the DAnish team is not going to be an easy opponent they are unbeaten in 18 last games and allowed only one goal in previous 6 matches that it came from a questionable penalty their goalkeeper Schmeichel is arguably the best keeper in the tournament so far. Yes i also put some bet on Uruguay, although the rate was a little because Portugal was favourite, but Uruguay really played very well almost 70% game in Portugal half, and they were too much succeeded to defend their 2 goal, although in last few months pubertal also played well but not succeeded to equal their two goals.

When you compare both the Argentina national team and the Portuguese national team, I can say without a doubt that Argentina have more capable players than Portugal but yet they seem to be unable to accomplish anything. I am sure that if Cristiano Ronaldo has the support of the Argentina squad, things would have been totaly different.

So the two GOATs of the footballing world have been sent home from the biggest stage in world football. With Argentina it was expected as they started the tournament not well. However, with Portugal, I was a bit surprised at the result. But take nothing away from Uruguay, they have very two hard working and clinical forwards and a solid defensive unit. Uruguay used master tactics/strategy to win the game. Portugal in my opinion lacked an experienced no.10 who would open up that tight defence with a incisive splitting pass. This world cup is becoming more unpredictable everyday, and I must admit a real joy to watch.

France and Uruguay deserved victory, they play very good with an excellent game from young Kylian Mbappé for France and Edinson Cavani for Uruguay.
It was really impressive what Mbappé made for his team, in front of this young player is an excellent football future. Too bad that Cavani get injured last night, I hope he will be ready in six days for big match with France.

Today we can expect two good game also, Spain will try to win against host Russia, but based on their group performances Russia will not be easy rival for them. Maybe we can see game with lot of scores, Spain is have very weak defense ( 3 goals from Portugal/2 from Maroco ).

In second game Croatia vs. Denmark, it should be very hard game because Denmark is known as a very strong opponent with 17 games unbeaten in a row. I think it is perfect time for Croatia to win and break this series only by the law of large numbers, and some quality on their side.

This game will be very tough I guess. Although Spain showed a less than satisfactory performance but Spain has the better level than Russia. This game may have to be completed on penalties.

I'm agree with previous reply. Even if I'm from Russia I think our team has no chances in this match which is coming in couple of hours already. I guess in the moment when it will be reached difference in two goals it will start the game of passes just to skip the reminig time.

Yes, I was very pleased with the Uruguay match, even won me a nice bet on the score, but less pleased that Messi and co now have to fly home. I know everyone has been knocking on Messi since the tournament started but it's totally unfair. So, golden boot, I hope someone other than Kane takes it, I like him and England but to win it on penalties and that weird deflected goal is not really nice. I suppose Senegal will also say it's not nice to get knocked out on yellow cards, so many "not nice" ways to win and lose in this World Cup.

Indeed, both Messi and Ronaldo are two best players in football but I think they are not hungry of the title anymore. Teams are doing their best to overthrow these two best players and they did it this time. This only means the team that defeat them are more hungrier than them, that's why they deserve the upset.

I don't think so. Maybe they coincided in the airport but they definitely didn't take the same flight, I think teams have individual planes.

Unfortunately they are both out so lets look at the remaining matches. Russia vs Spain starting right now, this one will be big. I find it very interesting that Spain has not scored a single goal against the host of a World Cup since the 1950's... maybe today it will be the day this unlucky streak is broken. Spain is a superior team to Russia I have no doubts about that, but Russia is the one that will have the most support in the field for obvious reasons, but still, this is nothing for the elite players in Spain, most are from Real Madrid and Barcelona, they are used to everything.

I don't think that they will be in a awkward situation. Although they have been compared and even has a rivalry for the top football player, they are both professional and they are out of the World Cup. Personally though, I hope the Maradona will just left Russia and get his act straight.

Spain is up 1 nil against Russia. Spain is favored to win so let's see how its goes.
