Winner of this year, ETH or BTC?

I think the winner is still Bitcoin.
Bitcoin with Ethereum has a very far price difference so of course, Bitcoin will be the winner.
Bitcoin is the oldest coin and is a strong coin, it has been proven for years because Bitcoin always occupies the first position in the coin market cap.
There is no doubt about the Bitcoin Blockchain system which makes it the number one coin.

bitcoin will still be the winner and the top. Although the ethereum also experienced an increase is good but it will not be enough to be able to rival the bitcoin. BTC will always be the most popular crypto, especially when we take a look at ETH prices today, it goes below $400.. Its so sad but might be a good time to buy more eth for those who still got more money.

I actually don't want a clear winner because it will just keep the market volatile and unstable.

The best situation would be if the majority of the market value is divided up amongst three to four different coins.
It is never healthy to have one coin be worth almost half of the entire market value.
So if eth takes it's place, then we are basically in the same boat, everything hinges on the performance of that one thing.

In reality, I see this happening more naturally too.
As the market matures and crypto becomes more mainstream, there will be equal attention paid to different legitimate projects.
Investors will also wise up and see that btc and eth are really two entirely different things.
So I think you will see more heated competition between eth and eos, ada, neo, etc rather than the whole eth vs btc debate.
Also, btc is already 9 years old, in tech years that's like a dinosaur.

If I see it from development, it looks like the ethereum will be a winner for this year. Because this is also being many ethereum once carved the achievement. And now the ethereum also able to master the market. even I am deeply convinced there will be a surge in prices at the end of this year.

First bitcoin was winner.
Last year ETH show us better result.
Now i think need to look to other new blockchain maybe EOS, but too late invest on it, need earlier

I think both ETH and BTC are great coins. But I still believe more in BTC, it is still the most well known coins, and still has a lot of potential to grow. For me, I have both ETH and BTC, I will keep holding them for some more time, at least one more year I think.

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

In my opinion, BTC will still be the "Number One" and the most popular crypto though ETH has a great potential too.

Both will be in leadership. Although,almost coins are based on the ETH network. ETH network transcations at a higher speed than bitcoin, yet it depends on the global market. This is altcoin season also so it is not sure which will be winner.

If we would refer to 2018 year we cannot imagine who would be the winner of this year because the situation on the market is so rapidly changing, we thought all, that Ethereum would be a dream currency, but for now it is losing positions.

I think Bitcoin will not disappear anywhere, and if you invest less, the price of the airwaves can fall very much, and that's a fact.
