At any time, BTC is the leader of cryptocurrency, and other cryptocurrencies are not beyond the possibility of BTC!
BTC is already the most successful application of blockchain and it is a firm belief!

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Many people are discussing this issue. I think we can observe them. In terms of cryptocurrency market usage, ETH has reached Bitcoin level, but from a global perspective, Bitcoin still exceeds ETH. , because their user base is not the same!

Hello everyone!

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

I believe with BTC coins because currently the price of bitcoin is still decreasing and not yet rising therefore I am sure the winner of this year's coin is Bitcoin while for Ethereum now also go up and because I know if the price of Ethereum decreases the price of bitcoin and altcoin will go up and can returns well at the end of the year

2018 will be a good year for BTC and ETH. Both have experienced good growth this year. But I think BTC will close this year as a winner. It is still difficult for the ETH to beat BTC, given the capitalization of BTC which is still far from the ETH range.

Well, i can say the winner of the year is still going to be bitcoin, and ethereum will be in the second place. Bitcoin is the most valuable coin among other coins in the whole world and its still gonna be the king.

True that you say is very difficult indeed to beat bitcoin,
so yes most likely this year the winner is still bitcoin,
we'll see the development will be clear

In my opinion, Bitcoin is always the number one, the altcoin and token can not cross the BTC in the near future! It takes more time
which became winner this year stay Bitcoin. because with the development of both increasing and competing, Bitcoin continues to improve its development and continue to maintain its position to be the first coin of the coins in the market Cryptocurrency.

ETH gave much more returns when compared to BTC last year. BTC gave around 15x returns, while those who invested in ETH got almost 100x ROI. Now it is difficult to predict who will emerge as the winner for this year. But so far, the signs are looking good for ETH.

I think bitcoin and ethereum will have the same chance and be a winner because both are coins that have good price movements and profitable, but maybe bitcoin will still be better than ethereum

I think the bitcoin position can not be replaced by ethereum this year, although today the bitcoin price continues to decline but the bitcoin is still firmly to become king in the crypto world.
I don't care about who the winner is between bitcoin and ethereum this year, the most important thing i can use both coins as a profitable investment for me, because
ethereum and bitcoin have their respective deficiencies and advantages.

The BTC will certainly remain the number one crypto-currency. After all, thanks to bitcoin, we now have a whole new world. ETH will be one of the main crypto-currencies, but hardly the number one.

to earn with bitcoin the way it was in 2017 will not work. In those times for a month the price doubled. However, then everything went down just as quickly ... In 2018, the bitcoin will be trampled down in the corridor of 6-9k, it is highly unlikely that it will rise above 10. So long should be considered in a few years.

I am definitely seeing Ethereum will be the leader of cryptocurrency, but not this year certainly. I think it will definitely surpass BTC in 2-3 years timeframe.

I would vote for the etherium, my swill is used more often than bitcoin, for example, to participate in ICO or to buy coins, which is very important

They are the best of cryptocurrency, bitcoin and ethereum are both profitable that's why i invest both of them because they are the most dependable cryptocoins that can stay and rise high at the market. Maybe bitcoin ranks as the #1 for many years but ethereum are getting stronger also

Don't foresee Ethereum overtaking Bitcoin at least not this year. Also if that were to happen it would be heavily contingent on whether or not Casper is a success and because we don't know that yet, Ethereum can't takeover. If Casper is wildly successful, then perhaps I would fear for Bitcoin's #1 spot.

I think it will definitely be Ethereum. This year the Ethereum Will change dramatically and I very much hope that its number will be limited.

I'm sure Ethereum and Bitcoin will be the winners, because these two coins have great potential and are very well known and have very many fans, but still that Bitcoin is still the most superior and number one and nobody can beat Bitcoin and it will be winner of the year.

It will always be the bitcoin until the year 2025. Ethereum may also be trying but Bitcoin still remains the king in the cryptocurrency world.

To be honest, BTC will keep it's crown this year and so on for the next few years I think so. The only thing you forgot to consider is that BTC is mainly used in business platforms which are compromised of Investments and Shares. Although I do see other cryptos competing with the big boys. One thing to mention is that the Internet doesn't just cover businesses. There are games, music, movies and other multimedia platform that needs their own systems.
