http://www.bitlotto.com - a monthly raffle style lottery using Bitcoins
*anonymous, transparent, and cheat-proof with a 99% payout of funds!*

TO PLAY:
Moderator note: Bitlotto is AWOL - DO NOT PLAY!
Send any multiple of 0.1 to: 1GJD22o4UUyauZdrkHgpiKAmBuapcB2hkq   using BitLotto compatible software. See list below. THAT'S IT!! The payment is the ticket! All payments received prior to April 5 00:00:00 UTC will be part of the raffle. Make sure you have a backup of your wallet! Advanced tip: if you want to customize the Bitcoin address the winnings are sent to, sent EXACTLY "0.00543210" in the SAME TRANSACTION, to the Bitcoin address you want the winnings sent to, using the "Add recipient" feature.

If it is not listed here assume it is not compatible!
Note: Any method that sends BTC using only your own private keys is compatible!

Bitcoin
Electrum
Armory
BitcoinJ
MultiBit
Blockchain.info
Strongcoin
Blockchain (Android)
BitcoinSpinner (Android)
Bitcoin Wallet (Android)
Blockchain (iOS)

Will NOT work: Any Shared Wallets such as BitPay, Mt.Gox, or Instawallet.
If you are unsure, sending some BTC to Blockchain.info, then buying the tickets with it, is quick and easy.

ABOUT BITLOTTO:
One of the largest Bitcoin lotteries around! One big winner every month!
Because it is a raffle style lottery, the odds of winning scale perfectly with the jackpot size compared to ticket price. No matter how small or big the jackpot, the price of each ticket, is a good deal. 99% of tickets sales go to the winner.

By using Bitcoins for a lottery a couple unique features are now possible:
-the players identities are unknown but all the tickets are known
-every ticket purchased can be viewed by everyone along with the senders Bitcoin address (Seen here)
-each ticket is permanent and can't be altered because it is stored inside the Bitcoin blockchain
-the pot size can not be faked as anyone can check the lottery address and verify it
-unlike practically every other lottery, 99% of all funds are paid to the winner!!!

Most importantly, it's impossible to manipulate who wins or fake a payment to the wrong person because:
-each ticket has a unique number that is permanent (transaction hash)
-using some block data and the USA Mega Millions lottery numbers a completely unpredictable and random hash is made that is beyond anyone's ability to manipulate (USA Mega Millions Lottery draw occurs AFTER all the BitLotto tickets are sold)
-the transaction hashes stored in the blockchain are then used to calculate the winner in an impossible to predict way (the exact formula is on the website)
-the winnings are then sent to the EXACT same address that bought the ticket

All of this can be monitored and verified by anyone and is recorded in the Bitcoin blockchain.

GOOD LUCK

After the draw all tickets and their hashes will posted along with the winner.

For independent verification an unofficial third party application for finding the winner can be found at: https://github.com/baldrickv/BitLottoVerify

Since I make very little profit from the raffle I don't have much BTC to spare. I would like to slowly pay people to update the site and make it more professional looking. Any tips to 1JQdiQsjhV2uJ4Y8HFtdqteJsZhv835a8J are VERY appreciated! THANK YOU.

I think you should still include the bitcoin address and ticket prize in your post to make it easier for people to take part after seeing your post.

I for once will buy more tickets. I love the transparency of it.

You should add more details in your monthly round threads. Like a stripped down description what BitLotto is, how it works, rules, the payment address of the month and a clickable link to your site. Someone who has never heard of your site and reads this thread won't know what the thread is even about and if there isn't an link to click they will just close the window and browse on. Make it easy for the lazy visitors!

I for once will buy more tickets. I love the transparency of it.

Thank for the tips timmey and Konzul.

I tried fixing the OP to be simple and mention the main selling points. If you can think of anything that is unclear or perhaps a feature you like that I missed please don't hesitate to mention.

10 days into August and so far: 10.4 BTC or about 100 USD!
There is also a syndicate starting up that's going to buy BitLotto tickets soon.

Can't believe the last guy won after buying a single ticket. And now the first syndicate won a Jr. drawing..

I shall spread my bet's. Sadly I only had one ticket last month in the main one as I planned to buy more later then work cut into this plan. The earlier we buy tickets I think the better as the higher jackpot will entice more people in.

Interesting point. I'm sure some like to wait and see what the pot will be while others don't really care. If you are going to play anyways, definitely your best strategy is to play at the beginning to encourage more to enter.

Just bought my first batch of tickets. People get in to sweeten the jackpot and it will grow exponentially!!!

One question actually, while I know I have to buy every ticket separately as a 0.25 transaction, is there a problem buying several in rapid succession? So that they might all end up in same block or something and then I only have one hash? Or am I just stupid here?

It's no problem at all. Only the transaction hash is used to determine the winner, and those are unique to each transaction. They are not related to the block they are placed in at all.

that sounds like a great idea... not too skewed but ever so slightly skewed to early-bird tickets... so say the first 50 tickets are 0.22 btc and then 0.25 btc after that.
Hmmm...i think that would be worth a try! But i would say 0.2BTC and 0.25BTC to make that gap a bit bigger or even triple steps 0.15, 0.2, 0.25BTC. Maybe also buy signature space for advertisement to get more attention on the lottery.

But most important..... this time, I will win!  Grin

edit:
bitlotto, in your monthly round threads, you could also add links to comments or threads where people said that they did win (on the assumption that not every winner will stay anonymous on this forum). This could gain some trust too...

Hmmm, anyone else think that bitlotto has wayyy too much text on the main page. Should probs do a ticket listing system as per my site. makes multiple ticket purchasing easier with 1 deposit.
