In case anyone cares, I've updated my tool to allow for multiple pool addresses:

https://github.com/baldrickv/BitLottoVerify

Thank you for updating this!  It's a great tool for double checking who won Smiley

I think there might be a few bugs or maybe I am doing something wrong.

Just to clarify that ... that comment is describing a problem when using that third party tool for verifying the published results, not that the results published were wrong.

This is the command I ran to check the June 1 winner:

java -jar BitLottoVerify.jar 00000000000004b4af7b4143e32d18cc55e373bd05051659fbdb8dc60702f04f 022738465245 1BdTh4FtbkajrFjkv6jbLX8xQ11n1KfXDf 1P44CLoLcnUBgerSk2xoHeGh5SEZJ9Abfg 181GZPYNPKyaoWKeDgrHURU8QWQ4Wg7nP3

Yeah, in reading over the "How the Pool Hashes Are Done" of http://bitlotto.com/pool.html I see that I am doing it all wrong.  I'll try to make a new version that does the pools correctly when I have time.

Random idea but what if there was no minimum ticket price?  Every satoshi would be a valid ticket, so someone who paid 1 BTC would get 100,000,000 tickets.  At only 1 Mhash/s it would take just over a day to calculate the winner if the jackpot was BTC1,000.  Anyway just a crazy idea I had while waiting for the results  Wink

Congrats 1G5apm... for winning 269.77 BTC!

So that was a record, in terms of USDs ... about $3K USD (using today's exchange rate).

This draw was a little bit more than half of the record draw in terms of BTCs (486.33 BTC) from the June 1 draw.

With BitLotto, 99% of the ticket revenues go to the payouts.

If it was structured similar to MegaMillions lotto, the payout to all winners for the month would have been something like 136 BTC, and because there are other winners than just the MegaMillions jackpot, the jackpot wouldn't even have been that much.  The amount that the MegaMillioins jackpot is quoted at presumes you will take it as an annuity (over a period of years).   If you want the money right away (cash payment lump sum), the jackpot amount is lowered another 20% or so (depending on the interest rate at the time it is won).  Then from that there is federal withholding at 25% and likely state taxes and ... ya.   Go BitLotto!

The megamillions numbers and same to other country lottos allways seem to state inflated numbers contributed to tax/government etc.

I really doubt they only take 15%(which is allready alot) from the total entries, thats probably why they mention approx the whole time. ;P

Congrats !!!

Hey cool, I was afk for 1 week at the first Spanish Bitcoin meet up in Madrid, left at $9, back at $11ish = nice & a BitLotto surprise of + 270 BTC = very nice indeed, paid for my visit & that to Calif this Fall as well, so very many thanks to all who entered - if I scoop the Euro millions lotto which is > $200M atm then I'll split a $M worth of coins amongst all previous posters in this thread to celebrate though I'm not sure if my Euro millions karma is as good as my BitLotto's seems to be atm.

Anyway to help keep the BL jackpot healthy I shall continue to bet at least 101 BTC per month, this last month I bet 121 BTC in total + 6 BTC that I bet for a charity, I should quit whilst I'm ahead but will continue to bet that same amount per month as long as pirate's scheme continues & will do so in the final week of the lotto as that's quite a bit of interest to miss out on otherwise, so if OP wishes to add that the jackpot will be at least 150 BTC guaranteed each month that would be fine.

PS - not seeing anything new in my wallet when I returned I had assumed that I'd lost so it really was a shock - I thought that I was reading a previous month's posts or something this morning.
