Can you explain how the 4th Oct winner won. For the 7th Sept you had: Winning Picks: ed40a2c75a Winner's Hash: ed5fe74695... And I could see that the 1st 2 letters matched (e-e and d-d), and was unlikely there was anyone with 3. So looks reasonable. But for the 4th Nov: Winning Picks: cc5de7979c Winner's Hash: f67278adb7... None match?? And there was at least one entrant: https://blockexplorer.com/tx/cbb34261c20d86d3f8524749fcc82ad5eb8c69b07bbb6cf4b48393db83fc4a1b#o1Where the first character matched. What is going on? Or have I not understood. Please update here and on the web site with fully worked examples for a few draws.

Also could you explain the payout. I can see a lot of stupid people send more than 0.25 so is a bit confusing! I can see before the last block there was a balance of 142.0155. https://blockexplorer.com/a/2pBymUZQndThen someone entered late for 0.25! https://blockexplorer.com/t/9UumF6xGXcAlso you returned 0.75 as someone sent 1. Leaving only 141.0155 So 99% of this is 139.60534. But the payout was 140.035. YOU PAID OUT TOO MUCH?

See: http://bitlotto.com/details.htmlOn Sept 26 the method was changed. I now look at the whole hash as apposed to just the beginning. This makes it a little easier on me. For examples see: bitlotto.com/jr as there has been a few draws now using that method.

Don't look at just the balance. If I refund money to people the end balance on blockexplorer can get screwed up a tiny bit as Bitcoin will send some of the BTC back to me at a different address. Look at BTC received and BTC sent. Thanks.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security. Read all about it here: http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/ Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

I cannot say this conclusively but it appears that the site had been defaced by a hacker and has since been taken offline. [Update: The site is back up using new hosting so my reply is no longer relevant.] Zone-H creates a mirror/archive of a site after someone reports that a defacement or other hack to a site has occurred. Zone-H reports: http://www.zone-h.org/mirror/id/15878149 Notified by: SA3D HaCk3D Domain: http://bitlotto.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi IP address: 199.58.186.44 System: LinuxWeb server: Apache Notifier stats This is a CACHE (mirror) page of the site when it was saved by our robot on 2011-11-26 17:04:14 I see that BitLotto.com's domain registrar lists that the BitLotto domain uses BitcoinWebHost for DNS. There is no A record for BitLotto on either nameserver: nameserver: ns1.bitcoinwebhost.com nameserver: ns2.bitcoinwebhost.com So it isn't just that the webserver isn't responding but that access to the site has been either explicitly disabled or there is a configuration error. This all is consistent with there having been a security breach and then the hosting company (possibly by request of the site owner) disabled the site. I can't find it now but the question of "what if BitLotto site gets hacked" had been asked and the response from BitLotto was that the wallet is not even on the same host as the website. There still are problems that could happen (e.g., where an attacker changes the bitcoin address to one controlled by the attacker and subsequent bitlotto wagers are lost) but the lotto entries purchased prior to the attack would still be controlled by BitLotto. Oftentimes the report to Zone-H is filed by the hacker -- in this case, apparently SA3D HaCk3D. There appears to be thousands of site defacements each month by this attacker so I would think it less than likely that the content of the BitLotto site was altered to scam those attempting to purchase BitLotto entries. Unfortunately, there is no notice about an attack or other explanation for the outage here nor on the site's Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/BitLotto Hopefully a full explanation is forthcoming -- from both BitLotto as well as from BitcoinWebHost. Sorry about my website. I've been dealing with computer failures, bad internet connections, etc. My host was moving some of their stuff to a new setup and I still have to do some of the setup. It should be up soon I hope!!!!
There has been no hack or anything. And even if I was hacked the worst they could do would be to vandalize the homepage. All tickets are part of the block chain so they can't ever be altered and I keep the wallet only on my own computer.
I'll try to update the BitLotto Jr winner soon and have it all set up before the bigger draw on the 7th.
