Without jokes with Voting Systen such thing become possible? How technically coins can be destroyed w/o free will of owner? "—"-transaction from Genesis-account or something like this or not at all?

And, Genesis account can do anything more powerful than all other accounts or not?

This is possible with Voting System. Someone creates a poll with description including proof and add an option to destroy coins / freeze account transactions / whatever. If 51% of all the coins choose to destroy coins then they r destroyed.

Genesis account can do nothing. Btw, when the time comes, the secret phrase that opens the genesis account will be published.

Uha, that sound quite scary....if its possible to vote on something like that, dose that mean that the Nxt client already contains a command to destroy any amount of coins on any account?
If so, isn't it possible for some hacker to use this and kill Nxt?

One small deed will change future of millions of people...
May be write in white paper: what can you potentially do with Voting System and what can u do not? Anything giving a leak to control minds'd be keep outdoored, m? If Voting System'll be dangerous enough, I start recommendating to all to stay away, it's very important.

Edit: Voting is a very dangerous tool, it should be used very carefully.
There'd bee high enough fee to rise only real big questions, right? And then, as I recall: plain text, voting, someone somewhere rewriting code to fit, updating of nodes. Or there're restirictions what about to vote (incomplete destroying, what? why not term "freezing")?

"freezing" sounds better

yeah, why destroy? freeze them and wait for the owner to present evidence he's innocent as a lamb or not or allow investigation of his node, or whatever, no need to destroy coins. And even freezing is too dictatorial. Banks do the same.

Anyone can create as many polls as they wish.
Destroying =/= freezing, there are differences, will be explained later.

It's not possible. Smiley
Destroying =/= destroing in common sense. This is just how defferent transactions on the blockchain r interpreted by client software.

I saw Voting System more like public signed polls. There're some tools of control of others accs planning with it? For what purpose?

That's a dilemma - Should I keep a powerful weapon that can protect me, but can kill me.

Maybe to defend the system? If 51% of stakeholders want to block someone's account they can do it anyway.

Who's "me"? Nxt system? It'll be proected with TF against even 90% of NXTs, right? So why we need any other kind of protection (more, based not on math)?

What can do 49%- (90%-) acc to system, exactly?

No, they can not. At least not that simple. A leader'd find all of them and convince them to lead.

Well, it's not about 'me', it's about 'us'.
One can fully trust himself, but can't fully trust the others.
So, I'd say, no need for such a weapon.

Maybe we don't need any other kind of protection. It's up to us if we use this power.

Agree. We or will be protected by math or won't be protected at all (any amount of minds can be manipulated, history shows us, how, even great ones).

If 51% of stakeholders think the same, u shouldn't worry.

Why implement that kind power in first place?! I don't get it. As I see, it's really dangerous. What about "+"s? Not so much. We can create a poll in forum.

I don't wanna rely on them. And I now for sure, that w/o built-in system, manipulation become times harder for that one who can potentially manipulate 51%+. So why we need Voting System at all?

I like it. Let's use Voting System (just voting) to ask if we need this. And implement the rest only if we get 51%.

So, when will Voting be implemented, after which block?
What is the plan for the next 2-3 features, which blocks are they introduced at?
Just to be ready, you know Smiley

Interesting. When I mentioned my concerns about this kind of voting system a few days ago, nobody seemed to care...
