dgex problems again...
DGEX is a disaster.  They never sent me my approx 1,200 NXT, i emailed them 2+ weeks ago, they replied 1 week later to the effect of "we trust your issue has been resolved".  I emailed them back and said it has not, and no reply.  Just stole my BTC.

They are updating the site right now..
How is that relevant to a transaction that was posted as "completed" 2 weeks ago and a ticket opened 12 days ago?  I will never see those NXT and nobody at DGEX is even investigating for two weeks.  If you can't have faith in an exchange how can you buy more?
Dude dgex has come thru tgick and thin this last month give em break. Im sure they will find ur nxt. Look at cryptsy even that site doesnt run smoothly. Btc-e doesnt run smoothly, mtgox takes weeks to withdraw. Its not just dgex but accross the board with exchanges they all have their ups and downs.

If they ever find (much less reply) about my NXT I will post and let everybody know how their service was.  Not sure where you get your blind faith that "they will find my NXT".

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

I have posted the NRS source at:

https://bitbucket.org/JeanLucPicard/nxt-public

This is version 0.4.7e, as provided by BCNext, without any modifications by me.

The Alias System is not included in the source, as it is an advanced feature.

The Transparent Forging is also not included, as it was released in 0.4.8 only.
Therefore, clients compiled from this source will only be able to reach up to
block 30000 on the current blockchain.

All my memory leak fixes and performance optimizations that went into 0.4.8
and 0.4.9e are also not included.

For reference only, the downloads section contains the compiled 0.4.7e binary
package as originally released. The json-simple and jetty libraries in it will
be needed to be able to compile the Nxt.java source. As explained above, this
binary package is out of date and will not work against the current blockchain
beyond block 30000.

Unfortunately due to the lack of support from the founders, with the exception of aldrin, I am forced to say goodbye.

I have worked through my vacation to come up with a strategic plan for NXT to get to 0.01 BTC and beyond. When the security issue came up, I debated with CfB who was stuck on "its impossible to add second layer of security because NXT is not centralized" to "API v2 will support second layer of security" Doesn't anybody see the significance of this?

I have pointed out the flaws in the addressing, came up with a solution, but not even acknowledgement from jean-luc and a few days later the same problem comes up again.

I have to make a living and I was willing to use up all my savings for living expenses while I worked fulltime on NXT. All I asked for was some incentive options, got only two responses. The more promising one was a "I will wait and see".

This lack of support does not give me the confidence to use up all my savings and I do have to make a living. I was one week late in discovering NXT, due to this I couldn't get enough to be set for life even if it does go up tenfold. Not sure if I will even be able to keep up with this thread, but I will try.

Goodbye NXT, I wish you luck in dealing with the competitors, bugs, usability issues, etc. without a strategic plan or anybody who is working on implementing the plan.

James

James, I personally would be sad to see you go.
From my own "regular' job, I know the frustration of seeing problems looming up in the future and not getting any response.
I would ask you to at least consider taking a back seat for the moment, being a bit less "invested", because that can be very véry tiring (I know) when you want to move quickly on a front that doesn't have priority for other people.

You have things to offer, and I'd hate to see that go.

yeah only one file. but its only 6821 lines [many (nearly) empty ones]. Thought of _way_ more though Wink

the code design doesn't look bad. For 6800 lines one file suits up, too from my point of view

thanks for on-time delivery!

A very newb question here -- why is there anticipation of a massive value change upon release of the source? People can begin work on releasing alternatives, I get that. The features haven't changed. What am I missing?

My problem is that my "vacation" is ending and I have to go back to work. As it is I have neglected a few things and they have created a bit of a mess.

I have identified easy to implement solutions to many problems, but none of them are even acknowledged. Maybe people think I am some marketing dweeb, but I have written a C compiler from scratch, realtime forex trading systems, firmware for devices, etc. I am primarily a programmer, but I can also relate to the non-technical user.

Since NXT has tons of programmers, many probably even better than me, there wasn't much point in my contributing that way, so I found the BIG GIANT GAPING HOLE in NXT that I could fix.

aldrin has been the only founder who sees value in what I do and was willing to back it up.

I was ready to sacrifice my life savings and all other business opportunities to concentrate on NXT. I don't lightly do that since my services are in pretty good demand. I just can't afford to continue investing the time that I have without getting some sort of upside. I have of course purchased the NXT I can afford, but even if I don't do anything I would have that NXT. I am talking about 100% of my time.

It seems that isn't worth setting aside the NXT for me to purchase at a later date. That is what I asked for. Not an outright grant of NXT. Founders need to sell NXT, I wanted to purchase at around double current market price. I just needed time to come up with the funds. Basically structured as incentive stock options, which are standard fare for compensation packages for someone doing the work that I was doing.

I did my two week audition, I guess I failed.

James

I just want to say it obvious James is a high quality person, and somebody NXT really needs at this moment in its development. The NXT community has been blessed with many talented people, as we  can all readily see from the events of the last few days and weeks, but James has a focus on areas that can take NXT into the arena of serious professional investors. That is where NXT belongs.

I have appreciated his support for my idea of the community forging fund as a long-term revenue raising mechanism for NXT, and I hope we will see his input in the future.

I am also very disappointed! Whats the sense of releasing the code for a client that cannot even catch up to the chain!

Will take me a while to climb up again, But where is a will, there is a way...
