That is not right, you can't change fees when you own nearly 90M NxT + X BTC of your customers without giving a timeframe to withdrawal with the old rules.
Would you kindly suggest how to deal with the missing 800k NXT please? Consider the rate of NXT shoots up significantly, not that I would have 70 BTC extra in my pockets to cover it right now. DGEX offered people free trading of NXT for 5 weeks. Demand that the founders compensate you for faulty execution. Another 800k of NXT burned? On top of the other lost NXT because of a lack of safeguards when sending? That 1 billion is a fixed number, those are never coming back. If they won't, then it's a sunk cost. Bring your fees down and hope that people keep trading on your exchange in the long run.

Hey, something strange happened to me today. After I noticed that I seemed to be on a fork (my block did not correspond to the one on the blockexplorer), I copied my blocks.nxt files to a backup location and then deleted them in my client folder. Then I copied a older blockchain in to the folder (from block 29k) but it did not get any new blocks, even after 10 min of waiting and 20+ active peers. I also tried to download from scratch, but no luck, same thing. Just won't download the block chain Any thoughts what I can do to get the block chain to download? Thanks! when this happens I blow away the whole nxt folder and unzip the latest ver and then copy over a blockchain backup annd restart. sometimes ill reboot. its the only way to be sure (nuke it from orbit) Tried all of that, already. Deleted everything, rebooted my PC, copied the files from the download folder in my Nxt folder, tried to download from scratch and tried to download with may backup blocks.nxt.... Nothing helped (usually it dose) What version? 0.4.8+? Catch blocks from block 0.
First I was using 0.4.8 then after this problem accursed I also downloaded version 0.4.9e....both with no luck And yes, I ryed to catch the blocks from block 0....aswell as from block 29k (my back up ) Though something I do notice now, which is strange, there are no .nxt.back files Leave it for half an hour, it will catch blocks eventually.

Would you kindly suggest how to deal with the missing 800k NXT please? Charge fees. But announce them ahead of time. You can still implement a grace period for those who deposited under the old fee schedule. Otherwise you risk ruining your reputation and losing a lot of money long-term. You will be much worse off if you follow through with a short-sighted cash grab.

Unless dgex raises fees to 30%!

Another exchange would open, it's not like it's rocket science to open one, just a full time job, that's all.

Agreed, Dgex is dominating the forum right now with a lot of negativity, perhaps we should move this over to the trading forum and focus on the code release.
+1 vote for keeping this thread as technical and positive as possible. Please take drama (dgex, partial source release, cries of unfairness, cries of under appreciation, discussions of ripple, etc, etc) to an appropriate area of http://nextcoin.org. RickyJames's open letters should stay. Those are entertaining. +2 need to keep this thread contained and informative. Marketing for Ripple gateway should also move to nextcoin or nxtcrypto forum. NXT price is down 20% due to what dgex did. Do you think I am advocating the peercover gateway to make a few bucks promoting ripple? It is a strategic need for NXT to be able to trade freely. Now on the day of src release, NXT opponents will say the price dropped 20%. This does not bother you? This belongs in some backwater thread? My interest is in long term NXT valuation. Dropping 20%+ on source code release day kind of makes it hard to spin it in a positive way. If we can establish a market price untainted by giant fees tacked on without warning in any other way, let me know. I just don't feel nxtchg's server can handle replacing dgex volumes. I also wouldn't want to trade there if any glitch makes my NXT disappear and that's the terms of service. James P.S. this whole thing could be an orchestrated attempt to hurt NXT. Does this not bother anybody else? You should go to different forums to advocate ripple gateway because that where Nxt beginners are. Only veterans follow this thread for updated info. All of your writings will be buried in the thread after 15 minutes.

You weren't acknowledge because we are in the biggest thread of this subforum. There is 600+ page. It's hard to spend time on each post. So valuable opinion are diluted. But now we know a bit more of you, i think people will spend more time reading your post. It's weird because I was just having a loose conversation via PM with jl777, about how I felt under-thanked by the community, on my discovery of the flawed client floating around.. not reward.. just like "hey thanks man" Actually I don't remember one person saying it. (not speaking about Gbeirn's awesome donations in anyway from his own personal NXT) And he's leaving because of being under-valued (sucks to hear that) Anyways, He clearly is passionate about NXT and I hope his ideas aren't lost. Hey now! Is 17480583094667840121 your new account? That is not my account. Sorry that was directed to PaulyC. Hey sorry just saw this. That's very generous! thanks Gbeirn. I don't even know when I'll check if it's in there, I'm freaked until the *confirmed client.. hah Yes this account hasn't been compromised and has a strong 40+ random PW, I haven't used it since 4.7e! Edit** Decided as everyone should to start fresh new Acct# with the windows installer from Pg. 1. Check sum'd and Hash good. thanks to anyone who can contribute. NXT 14008664550450326382 I did get a pm from another poster who mentioned setting up a bounty for me, so I don't know what the protocol is here, sorry. thanks! Sent 7808 NXT. Thanks for discovering this before too many others were tricked as well!

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community. This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

Another exchange would open, it's not like it's rocket science to open one, just a full time job, that's all. Except everybody who has anything on deposit would lose a significant percentage of their value. As it is not only are we confronted with horrible fees, EVERYONE with any NXT deposited at dgex is looking at an instant and unwarranted 20% loss of market value. This might be short term, but the timing is suspicious and it creates a big hill to climb just when we should be celebrating the release of source code. James

James I agree that everyone should be given an opportunity to withdraw for 0% for the next 1-3 days and give a warning that the fees will be this % high after that period. That would be long term business approach. However, what I said is I don't worry about the price of NXT, because if network and functions are being worked on as planned, the price long term will take care of itself.

what are the fees associated there? I cant seem to find any info page on the main site there, just a create account or login links
For now there are absolutely no fees. But this will probably change when the exchange becomes more popular. In case the fees are introduced, they will be announced beforehand and also anyone who deposited while there were no fees will be able to withdraw with no fees. I will not hold anyone's money hostage. Trying it out and looks like nxtchg.com is good alternative to dgex! But, you need to make a password reset form ASAP otherwise you'll get a ton of support requests about forgotten/lost passwords. BTW you have a PM about lost password

Also it doesn't help the price when the source is released, and the first things being said are that there are 3 major, fatal flaws with it. If that doesn't stop a buyer, I don't know what will. I agree. That wasn't done properly.

If people are that shortsighted they shouldn't invest in anything.

If so, do you by any chance have a link to a peer list and how to add them? Thanks

My point was that as soon as you read the post, you get the impression that NXT is broken. Newbies will think fatal flaw, and they will assume that NXT doesn't work so they won't buy it. Bounties are great, but the wording was a shocking.
