I'd like to ask what people's opinions are on the subject of illegal content in the nxt blockchain.

To clarify, I am not talking here about an AACS encryption key, a Windows licence key, or a magnet link to the latest episode of Game of Thrones; but rather child pornography.

Forced encryption with key distribution for fee (to prevent broadcast)?

I can't understand two things about NXT:

1) Why there is still discussion about checksums? There is nothing to discuss here. This feature is a must. Once it's mentioned, it should be implemented at once if not sooner. Without this basic feature NXT won't be taken seriously.

2) Divisibility. It's easy to implement and it's absolutely necessary. Don't we think Nxt market cap will ever reach 1 billion USD? What would the minimum trnsaction fee be in that case? Look at this from another perspective: there are at least 6 billion people on the planet, and there are less than 1 billion NXT. Did I miss something? May be it is alredy scheduled for implementation?

Besides that, some people say - "the code is ugly". I'd say: it was expected to be so. BCNext is an inventor, not a software engineer. Now good sowtware engineers are coming, and the code will surely be improved.

It is indeed best if a forum were used that has no ties with any of the exchanges so that it can act in good faith at all times.

The best way is to host such a forum on Nxt network.

Agree....would also protect forum from being DDOS

Agree ... but till than we have to survive.

Pin

also afer NxT is able to host a forum we need normal web platforms.
currently NxT has 8000 accounts and every user has min. 3-4 accounts.
that meens we have 4000 user maximum.
this is nothing, nobody knows about NxT at this moment.

so we still need to provide all support in the normal web, also if there is an NxT internal forum.

As soon as IM function of NXT 'll be ready, there 'll be possible millions of users, which is quite enough for truly anonymous communication stack building.

I'd like to ask what people's opinions are on the subject of illegal content in the nxt blockchain.

How could you prevent this from happening?

In my view, that's the correct question. I'm not smart enough to answer it, though; at least not with answers that maintain nxt's core decentralisation philosophy. I'm hoping others on this forum have some ideas.

Agree, checksum are not even debatable if you want NXT to be reliable

Agree ... but till than we have to survive.

Guys, why don't you change that terrible design on https://forums.nxtcrypto.org?

My eyes hurt, I am afraid I will get a headache if I look at it for too long.

Black background is rarely used on major public sites outside niches, like gaming.

Agreed. I was excited to find a new forum and barely made it through the registration process. Haven't read/posted there since the first visit.

Would really like an active NXT forum to participate in... as much as I like this thread, it's unwieldy and tough to keep up with.

Well, the problem is that the alias system is designed to allow any clients to freely lookup any alias; if that isn't possible then the whole alias system falls down. Perhaps you should put in some defence against DDOS, but apart from that the values an alias points to are readable by all. A bit like DNS.

Perhaps a solution would revolve around forced encryption, fee-paying, etc; but I don't yet see it.

my main longterm concern with bitcoin is the explosion of the blockchain.
I may be wrong there, but I would like to know if there are estimation on the size of the NXT blockchain.
you are going to add asset exchange, forum and storage in the network. what will do this to the blockchain?
now it's 10MB, so it surely will increase to 1GB, right?

It's gonna be awesome when it's possible to sent NXT directly over the alias function.
Peter wants so sent NXT to Max.
Max ownes the alias "Max".
So Peter doesn't have to struggle with some crazy number, but with the easy alias.

Block size is 32K max, 1440 blocks per day average. You can't put a lot of payload to block anyway.
