RED ALERT!
This just appeared inside my DGEX account in big red letters:
"NEW SECURITY ALGORITHM IN USE - Update your password! You may also use your old password, most important is that you update the new encryption data to the DGEX database through the above form."
I'm not sure if someone hacked in and posted that to get people to enter their password though!
Geez... I had this already yesterday. And changed my pw. I'm relatively new to all this and feel like I'm constantly on the edge of getting screwed in one way or another, not talking bout dgex now but all these hackers. Can not really confirm since dgex seems to be down right now. Oh well, there's more to life than bits and coins, gonna get some sleep now

Many have reported bad experiences with using Dgex. I wished they had not happened. While I really dislike the exchange for its features and user interface, I'd like to share that I have traded several million Nxt through this exchange since the day there were launched - with not a single problem. All withdrawals were delivered (within their stipulated time frame) and all arrived safely.
Having said that, I join all other users in stating my displeasure over the way they increased fees without any notice.

We just need new markets where we can buy/sell NxT. I'm sorry for dgex, but this is just a bad joke.
There is NxtChg.com or that Ripple Gateway thing. NxtChg.com probably will be a good option in few days/weeks. Still little volume. I don't like ripple gateway :/ Ripple and the Peercover gateway takes a little getting used to. Out of the three exchanges, it seems like the most secure option at the moment to me, though. do you have a link to the peercover orderbook?

I was a little wary of it since /simpleGateway reads "Connect your wallet to see balances and trade currencies." But even when you do that no orderbook updates... Unless it's dead. When james posted it saying there were 250k nxt on the books I didn't see a thing. no bids or asks

do you have a link to the peercover orderbook? https://peercover.com/#/simpleGatewayMake sure Trade is selected in the left-hand side menu. It should be by default. Then select NXT in the right-hand side three-currencies menu. Scroll down to see the order book.

It just wants to see how many funds you have to trade, I think. It can't touch your funds -- no different than having your NXT address in your sig, for example. Underneath that, it asks for your Ripple secret key. My response was no fucking way. But it still works without the secret key.

Reporting another "issue" with DGEX: I have not received the nxt that, according to the History page, have been sent.
My dgex account number: 2818 Sent to account: 14748981975238803545 Time of request: 4 January 22:37:55 Amount: 59,160 nxt
Maybe I'm using an old block explorer? (Is that even possible?) Can someone verify that this transfer has or has not made it to the account above?
I see two transfers that add up to 69020 that happened today, but not 59160 you can use http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=100 put in your acct # in box

To NXT devs and DGEX, I think every NXT users agree that to distribute NXT into small parts is the most important thing now. So that big invester are dare to put their money in to the market make NXT grow. It will be an obstacle for nxt's development if the original shareowners keep most of the NXT in hand. In past times, users trade NXT on DGEX.com with low fee and ZERO withdraw fee. This is great cause this encourages NXT users to take the NXT in hand which is good for NXT distribution. However, now dgex set an extremely high fee on withdraw and trading. This totally block users to trade. You can see the trading amount drop from 1000BTC/day to 300BTC/day. Hope NXT dev can negotiate with DGEX. My suggestion: 1. NXT withdraw fee should be 0 2. NXT trading fee 0.05% or lower 3.BTC withdraw a little bit lower (Not that important)
THANKS!

The secret key is if you don't want to use the ripple wallet's trade page and want to use peercovers trade mode. Totally optional. The key stays in the browser and is used to sign transactions locally. The market that has the NXT on ripple is NXT.peercover/XRP so make sure you set the issuer for NXT to peercover's ripple address: ra9eZxMbJrUcgV8ui7aPc161FgrqWScQxV Sometimes you have to refresh and relogin to the ripple wallet to see the order book. I think a lot of the NXT for sale has been sold, so only about 150,000 NXT left for sale on orderbook, at 2.9 XRP and higher, which is over .00008 James

So it's still missing the most recent withdrawal. I've sent an email to dgex and posted the same note on the nxtcoin.org forum thread, which Graviton seems to be monitoring, so hopefully I'll hear a reply soon. Thank you for double-checking.

GCInc! We need confirmation from you! Please post here to confirm we should change our passwords!
Yes, we need GCInc here. Odd he didn't mention anything about this earlier. He did imply that he was hacked on the 2nd and that was the cause for most of the 800K loss of NXT. I don't think he wanted to admit it though as his website pitched how dgex was all ninja about security. I didn't see the msg about changing passwords, maybe that was the hack via phishing? Glad I got everything out yesterday, was worth paying 1.4% for peace of mind. I can't believe I just said that! James

I agree with points 1 and 2. The trading fee is just too high for a such a young coin. It's certainly stopped me from doing some trading.

Underneath that, it asks for your Ripple secret key. My response was no fucking way. But it still works without the secret key. I can only see XRP/NXT book. I don't want to touch XRP... my head is going to explode. NXT/XRP is a lot more stable than NXT/BTC. I offered to make market in NXT/BTC but nobody seemed to actually want it and a market in NXT/XRP formed. I could even make a market in NXT/USD, but no point if nobody is there. If we had enough buyers and sellers who all agreed to trade NXT/BTC, then an orderbook will form. Chicken and egg problem. Can't get traders without orderbook, can't get orderbook without traders. It would be a lot simpler if we traded NXT/BTC, then nobody has to ever touch XRP and you can still trade NXT. Just deposit BTC if you are buying and just deposit NXT if you are selling. No need to convert to XRP or convert from XRP. Converting from XRP to BTC is just a matter of sending it to a bitcoin address, it automatically converts it. Going from BTC to XRP is a bit trickier, especially if you don't have a bitstamp acct. The solution is for enough traders to agree to trade NXT/BTC and use peercover as the issuer for both. Then it is simple. Deposit BTC to buy, deposit NXT to sell. You can use ripple's wallet trade page if you are not comfortable putting in ripple secret into browser. A bit more work to setup the NXT/BTC pair with peercovers ripple address, but not that bad. I tried to get a trade page that simplified things, but as people have said ripple is a bit more complicated that normal. James

I'm staying away from DGEX from now on, what a clusterfuck.
If that warning to change passwords isn't a phishing attempt by someone that's compromised the site why wasn't an email sent out? I don't log-on the site every day, and it seems something as critical as that would warrant a mass email.
